The Fig Wagyu Burger—which pairs perfectly with their seasonal cocktails—is one of our favorite versions in the area and presented with beautiful plating on the stunning patio (a romantic dinner win-win.) There are other tremendous, shareable dishes as well like the Olive Fig Tapenade and goat cheese fondue if you’re not the burger type.
And if you’re looking for an extra elegant experience, book a table on their patio for that warm yet elegant atmosphere.
The Meltdown

The Meltdown is a classic, no-fuss American diner off the freeway with easy parking, hearty made-to-order meals, and surprisingly reasonable prices. In other words, if you need a reliable spot to refuel after a long day or want a late-night breakfast that hits the spot, pull into that parking lot now. The stuffed strawberry pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon, and the lettuce-wrapped burger are all excellent.
MRK Public

Planning a casual dinner when you’re tired from the beach and just want something satisfying usually means you’re settling for fast food. MRK Public is proof better options exist. This cozy spot in San Clemente isn’t doing anything wildly different than other sandwich joints in Southern California, but it’s executing the formula better. The open space inside with its indoor-outdoor flow gives the dining room a relaxed, neighborhood feel without being boring.
Pastrami arrives tender and flavorful (made from scratch daily) and sandwiches like the braised beef are assembled with care. Arrive before 7pm and the dining room will be filled with sun-kissed locals, but if you want a more intimate vibe, come later when the wine and beer selections shine under the warm lighting of a casual date night.
IHOP

It doesn’t have to be a weekend morning for a visit to IHOP to feel like a comforting tradition.
