If you’re craving the best bar and grill experience in Wyoming, MI, you’re in the right place. But beyond the classic burgers and brews, you’ll discover smoked brisket that melts like butter, craft cocktails that defy expectations, and a community vibe that feels authentically West Michigan. While some might lump all of Greater Grand Rapids together, we’re focusing squarely on Wyoming’s gems—with a few nearby must-visits since you’re already there.
Glass House
$ | (616) 214-8415 | WEBSITE
There are two great spots for wings in Wyoming—one on Division and another on Michigan Street, which is just five minutes away and the better choice for drinks with friends. This one is next to the main strip, and the best dish here is the savory bone-in wings. The BLT pizza is great too, but the Sesame Chicken Poutine is a bit too heavy (for a better poutine, head to a Canadian joint). But even if you’re not in a wing mood, come here for the delicious drinks.
There’s a friendly bartender who can mix you something special with reasonable prices. But be very careful with those drinks—they’re so on-point you could probably use them to forget your worries.
Grand Rapids Garage Bar & Grill
$ | (616) 454-0321 | WEBSITE
It is hard to imagine a night out in Wyoming without Grand Rapids Garage Bar & Grill. Most locals can’t head downtown or even plan a casual evening with friends without considering a mandatory stop at this lively spot that’s become a staple for good times. The place serves reasonably priced drinks and top-tier bar food, and also makes some of the best chicken tenders and cheese curds around.
There’s also an outdoor seating area with nice scenery, where you can watch people and their dogs enjoy the atmosphere while you savor your huge onion rings a little too quickly.
The Holiday Bar
$ | (616) 456-9058 | WEBSITE
If you love grabbing a burger in a cozy back patio while great music keeps the vibe lively, The Holiday Bar is for you. This spot in Wyoming makes the best French onion soup we’ve had in the area. It’s also perfect for drinks and bar seating. There are rotating deviled eggs and other bar favorites that keep things interesting. The burger is cooked just right, so it’s juicy, flavorful, and hits the spot.
The Holiday Bar also has different seating areas, a back patio, and fast service, so it’s great for locals and visitors alike. But things get busy during peak hours when the crowd turns up (and so does the wait). It’s a popular place with a vibrant atmosphere that provides a fun and enjoyable dining experience.
Alebird Taphouse and Brewery
$ | (616) 583-8457 | WEBSITE
It’s not on the menu, but ask for the blueberry cider here, and when they ask if you want it chilled, nod your head like a heavy metal fan at a concert. This blueberry cider is the best cider we’ve had in the county. It’s crisp until refreshing and tangy, but still smooth. We could drink this all day, but then we’d miss out on the tender grilled chicken or pimento mac and cheese. The sauces are made in-house too. They’re flavorful yet impressively balanced given how much they enhance the dishes.
There’s also a great variety of options, so you’re in control of the amount of salads, handhelds, or main entrees. And if you’re in the mood for a massive burger, order the buffalo nickel. It all comes out so fast that you’ll be back with friends too in a matter of one song.
Anazeh Sands Billiards Wyoming Mi
$$ | (616) 538-0810 | WEBSITE
This casual bar and grill is one of our favorite places to unwind over a game of pool. The crispy chicken wrap comes with spiral fries, which have been praised as exceptional—you should be dipping those perfectly seasoned fries into the creamy ranch dressing that accompanies the wrap. Anazeh Sands also has a welcoming environment where you can enjoy great value, with most menu items priced between $10 and $15, making it easy to relax without breaking the bank.
There’s a chill vibe throughout, with soft lighting and comfortable seating that invites you to stay awhile. It’s a laid-back spot, with plenty of pool tables and a cozy atmosphere that keeps us coming back.
HopCat East Beltline
$ | (616) 369-0600 | WEBSITE
A Saturday morning crowd would have a hard time finding a quiet corner in this bustling bar and grill. But HopCat East Beltline is big when it comes to flavor and beer selection.
The marriage of casual dining and craft brews is the result of a well-established local chain—making this a true gathering spot where servers like Dom will give you the full rundown on the cosmic fries (a loaded pile of crispy potatoes topped with truffle aioli and seasonings that fills the air with savory aromas) before sending you off with a recommendation from their extensive tap list. But you are absolutely ordering the truffle options.
They’re made with quality ingredients, served with attentive care, and stacked like a delicious little mountain.
Last Chance Tavern & Grill
$ | (616) 719-4270 | WEBSITE
The focus at Last Chance should be the burger and shrimp platter. We don’t want to call the shrimp a side. That isn’t fair to the perfectly grilled pile of seafood that tastes like the collective labor of one hundred Midwestern cooks. The juicy burger patties lathered in melted cheese are also delicious. There aren’t many tables inside this cozy walk-in spot, which might be why most people gather at the bar or head to the outdoor area.
But even if you don’t stay for karaoke, take a second to admire the impressive (and large) collection of 90s memorabilia on the walls.
Charlie’s Bar & Grille
$ | (616) 364-0567 | WEBSITE
In Wyoming, it’s harder to find a Jucy Lucy burger than it is to find a spot in town where you won’t be subjected to someone else’s classic rock playlist. But Charlie’s Bar & Grille is a local establishment that has delicious Jucy Lucy burgers. We like the classic Jucy Lucy. It normally comes with American cheese, but order it with cheddar—it gets along better with the juicy beef patty, crisp lettuce, and soft bun.
Then there’s the walleye sandwich—practically the same thing as the fried pollack, but served on a toasted bun with tartar sauce and fresh coleslaw. This is a great place for family dinners too. The tables are cozy and the dining room fills with warmth that shines through the friendly staff.
HopCat
$ | (616) 451-4677 | WEBSITE
HopCat is a destination. It’s been a local favorite for years and looks like a modern industrial space with exposed brick and steel beams. There’s a long bar for drinks and a few high-top tables for folks waiting to try the fries. You’ll probably have to wait too if you come on a Friday night. Not everything is perfect. The burgers are good, but they won’t make you sigh like a cat in a sunbeam—for a reaction like that, get the Killer Mac with grilled chicken.
And the fries are more addictive than your phone after midnight. But HopCat’s strength is its casual vibe, no-fuss food, friendly service, and straightforward fun. You’re here to drink local beers with your friends off of wooden tables next to happy strangers, and watch plates from the kitchen glide out of a wide open pass.
Blue Dog Tavern
$ | (616) 608-6050 | WEBSITE
Blue Dog Tavern feels like a neighborhood hangout in a converted warehouse that happens to serve chicken flatbread sandwiches on tables made from reclaimed barn wood. This comfortably hip restaurant is mostly a dinner spot—but they do lunch on weekdays from 11am till (according to the regulars) “the beer taps run dry.” There are enough craft brews on tap to start a debate about hops, and the menu has the kind of bar food a friend might make you for a 7pm dinner.
Think shrimp salad with crispy tortilla strips and tacos with fresh lime wedges. If it’s available, you finish your casual dinner with a plate of loaded tater tots for sharing.
Manny’s Bar and Grill
$ | (616) 419-4427 | WEBSITE
On weekends, Manny’s fills up with locals playing pool and enjoying cold drinks. But you’ll usually find a spot at the bar, which has more dart guns hanging on the walls than a carnival game. If that’s full, there’s a lively back area with beer pong tables. The diverse menu has wings, burgers, and bar snacks. But we like the wings. Order the stellar wings—they come with a choice of sauces and are served with a side of celery and blue cheese.
And if the crowd gets rowdy—or if you just don’t mind waiting a bit for your drinks—order the very good wings.
Country Side Inn
$ | (616) 878-9417 | WEBSITE
Just west of downtown is Wyoming—where the best deep-fried tacos we’ve ever eaten are. Country Side Inn is a cozy local spot that serves cold beer and consistently good food. But you’re coming here for bar and grill classics. Everything is reliably satisfying. The beer is always chilled, and you can thank local suppliers for your fresh ingredients. Plus, portions are generous. They give you so much southwest egg roll filling, it’s hard to finish the plate it comes on.
But those deep-fried tacos are the star of the menu. The shells are crispy, the meat is flavorful, and the toppings are fresh. End your visit with some lively entertainment that keeps you smiling whether you know the people around you or not.
Our Tavern
$ | (616) 242-9930 | WEBSITE
The ice-cold tap beer—a perfectly chilled American staple—is a beautiful thing. And Our Tavern pours one of the best we’ve ever had. Plus, this place is a great casual bar and grill (their mixed drinks are simple and wonderful). There are other things on the menu that involve drinks besides the beer, like perfectly balanced cocktails and a variety of bar offerings. But please get the tap beer as well. It’ll make us sad if you don’t.
Ironwood Bar & Grill
$ | (616) 350-9384 | WEBSITE
A visit to Ironwood Bar & Grill feels like stepping into a classic American bar and grill where everything just works. It’s comfort food heaven, in the most satisfying way possible: potato skins and pork rinds next to a bar full of regulars enjoying cold beers. But the menu is the real star here. There’s a solid lineup of bar classics with so many tasty options it’s hard to choose. So prioritize the Bacon Cheeseburger and Iron Fries.
These two dishes are absolute winners, but everything is good so come hungry. Also keep your eyes peeled for the generous club sandwich, the shrimp dinner, and the wonderful cheese sauce that comes with those must-try fries. Go during the week if you can, when the atmosphere is generally quiet and there’s a section perfect for families and kids.
Stella’s Lounge
$ | (616) 742-4444 | WEBSITE
Any night out in Wyoming should include a visit to Stella’s Lounge. The unique bar and grill offers a spooky yet classy atmosphere, and during peak hours the wait can easily stretch past thirty minutes. What those guests are waiting for are burgers—and yes, they are worth the wait, especially when they’re served hot and well-sized. But there are other things you should try here, like the unusual yet delicious poor man’s wings and options for vegetarians.
Just remember to ask about dairy-free cheese and ranch while you browse the menu. Or come on a random weeknight before the downtown crowd arrives and you’ll probably snag a table right away.
Chubby’s
$ | (616) 534-5161 | WEBSITE
If a sports bar wanted to serve up some seriously satisfying comfort food, it would look like Chubby’s. The place buzzes with energy, with multiple TVs flashing games and a lively crowd that makes conversation a bit of a challenge. At the counter, you’re greeted by friendly staff who keep things moving fast. The food here is pretty solid compared to the atmosphere. We love the crispy and juicy chicken tenders with that signature sauce.
The Ruben sandwich is perfectly toasted with a delicious dressing. But because this is a bar and grill, go for the standout and get the rodeo burger instead: Chubby’s spicy patty loaded up fresh and served with those fantastic potato wedges.
Gravity Taphouse Grille
$$ | (616) 719-4944 | WEBSITE
Gravity Taphouse Grille is not just a bar and grill. It’s a warm and welcoming space where the hungry can gather for celebrations and good times. But here’s where it becomes a dining destination. The standout at Gravity Taphouse is the food, with dishes like the juicy Smash Burger served on an onion roll and the Taco Pizza praised for its delicious combination of flavors and spices.
They even hand you a diverse and visually appealing appetizer menu when you sit down, with items like the hushpuppy starting around $8. Just bring some patience during peak periods, as service can be slow, though the staff remains pleasant and accommodating throughout.
Tip Top Deluxe Bar & Grill
$ | (616) 272-3910 | WEBSITE
This little bar and grill sits in what looks like a rough part of town, but inside it’s all cozy and welcoming. We come here for the burger. It’s a juicy patty with melted cheese that oozes out the sides and soaks into the soft bun. For an extra dollar, you can add bacon and grilled onions. But if you’re in the mood for something different, try the patty melt with its buttery grilled bread and savory filling.
The service can be slow when it’s packed for open mic night, but the staff stays friendly even when swamped. So if you’re looking for live music or just want to play some pinball over a cheap drink, this is a great spot to unwind before catching an international act on the small stage.
The Win Tavern 33
$ | (616) 734-6724 | WEBSITE
The Win Tavern 33 is a popular spot serving burgers, fries, and bacon jam creations. The portions are huge, the prices are decent, and the Bacon Jam burger is worth the drive to Wyoming even if you live across town and it’s game night. It’s a sports bar with a lively vibe and a welcoming atmosphere that works for both adults and kids. Service is friendly and attentive, the burgers are big and meaty, and it’s a great restaurant to meet up with friends for a casual meal.
Order a sizzling bacon cheeseburger made with local meat and watch as every jealous table does the same.
