Do we think whoever first brewed tea centuries ago imagined we’d one day be shaking it with chewy tapioca pearls and calling it a meal? Probably not. But thank goodness they did, because Arlington’s bubble tea scene has exploded with Taiwanese classics, Vietnamese twists, and Instagram-worthy creations that make every sip an adventure.
Spot of Tea – DuPont Circle
$ | (844) 567-9632 | WEBSITE
Spot of Tea – DuPont Circle is a cozy cafe in DuPont Circle that serves the kind of creative, customizable boba drinks that tea lovers and remote workers might daydream about. Like the signature Raveberry hibiscus rose with brown sugar boba, a floral-tart situation typically served with creamy oat milk, or the popular strawberry matcha blending earthy green tea with sweet berry puree.
They also happen to offer one of the most satisfying dairy-free options around—the ube latte, swirling vibrant purple yam into velvety steamed milk. The upstairs workspace provides a quiet, well-lit nook with free WiFi, perfect for sipping a taro vanilla or strawberry milk while getting things done.
Despite the slightly premium price tag hovering around $8 per drink, the friendly staff and quality ingredients make it a worthwhile indulgence, especially during the calm morning hours when the outdoor seating feels particularly inviting.

This restaurant crafts homemade banh mi rolls and stuffs them with tender, flavorful pork, pickled vegetables, fresh cilantro, and a smear of pâté. The crackly bread soaks up the juices while still remaining crisp on the outside, made even better with a side of mango sticky rice (a sweet, creamy dessert with perfectly ripe fruit).

These perfectly made creations are generous in a good way, with combinations like strawberry with Nutella and extra strawberry, banana and strawberry/banana sweet crepes, or savory options like shrimp tempura and avocado with spinach (our favorite).
Whatever you do, don’t forget to add on a strawberry lemonade or Thai Tea to complement the light golden, tightly wrapped crepes. The crème brûlée here is simply amazing.

There’s an excellent cross between a Cocoa Cream and a mango slush, along with the green tea—a refreshing classic with just the right amount of sweetness and a smooth, inviting finish. It’s a masterpiece.
Anything involving their green tea base or their subtly creamy textures is going to be phenomenal.
One Tea House Falls Church
$ | (626) 466-5027 | WEBSITE
The owners of this Falls Church bubble tea spot are known for being very kind, which tells you the kind of welcoming atmosphere we’re dealing with here. And the drinks are decent. Milk teas are straightforward, though not outstanding, and it costs extra to add boba to some drinks. Creamy matcha banana drinks topped with banana foam could satisfy us for the entire afternoon. And crispy chicken bento boxes served with popcorn chicken are just as tasty as they are satisfying.
Desserts fly out with just the right sweetness, and the modern space has a nice selection of drinks for food supplementing.
