Maybe it’s the craving for that perfect tapioca pearl. Maybe it’s because Brentwood still has drive-thru windows that don’t require a second mortgage. Most often, it’s simply because we like the sweet, chewy escape. Whatever the reason, locals here hold down their bubble tea spots—the sleek modern cafes, the cozy family-run shops, the trendy ones where your drink comes with an Instagram backdrop. In fact, you’ll probably find more of us in line than actual tourists (no shame).
Yum Cha Boba Tea & More
$ | (925) 666-8917 | WEBSITE
With its clean, bright interior and straightforward counter service, Yum Cha Boba Tea & More has comfortably settled into the neighborhood’s go-to spot for a quick, refreshing boba fix. On weekends, the space fills with groups of friends and families who order from the huge menu, from the popular Jasmine boba milk tea to unique flavors like Brown Sugar Boba with Crème Brûlée Cream showcased on the board.
The drinks are consistently praised for their great taste and not being too sweet, with options like the Oolong Milk Tea with Almond Milk that will work well enough to please a group with varying preferences. But regardless of what we’re craving, we order the Parmesan Fries alongside our drinks—they’re the perfect savory complement.
Yum Cha’s boba pearls are also described as the ‘best around’ when they’re ready—another great reason to keep this place on your radar, though it’s wise to time your visit to avoid those occasional longer waits.
Mt. TeaAblo
$ | (925) 240-4340 | WEBSITE
Though it’s a newer spot in Brentwood, Mt. TeaAblo has quickly become a local favorite, conveniently located right across from a popular car wash. Today, this cozy boba place still brings a welcoming energy—you can relax with a perfectly cooked Okinawa brown sugar milk tea and delicious coffee jelly while enjoying the clean, well-decorated atmosphere. But really, come whenever you’re in the mood for a refreshing drink.
Just settle into one of their comfortable seats, order a Taro-ific milk tea and some mochi ice cream—a polarizing boba classic, yes. If you are into it, then asking for less sweetness is just as nice as customizing your perfect cup.
Brentwood Boba Corner
$ | (925) 626-8877 | WEBSITE
Tucked away in a Brentwood strip mall, Brentwood Boba Corner checks a few boxes—family-friendly hangout (thanks to the kid-friendly vibe), sweet treat destination (courtesy of the boba drinks and macaron ice cream sandwiches), and quick refreshment spot (the service is so friendly it feels welcoming). At the heart of the menu are popular drinks like the brown sugar milk tea and oreo snow, with the coffee hazelnut macaron ice cream sandwich being a standout.
Make it a proper visit and try the egg puff or mochi waffle as your snack. We like the boba, which arrives fresh and soft, with chewy texture adding satisfying depth. And if you feel like something seasonal, the store is decorated for the holidays, making it a great little gem for a quick, refreshing drink at just $4.50.
Quickly
$ | (925) 418-4240 | WEBSITE
Quickly in Brentwood offers two distinct experiences depending on what you’re after. The main counter is the place to grab a reliable, fast bubble tea fix—you can sip on a refreshing avocado smoothie while you carefully adjust the sweetness level to avoid the occasional watery drink. The snack area, on the other hand, is where you go to indulge with friends or to treat yourself, hoping the crispy fried tofu or hot popcorn chicken will hit the spot just right.
If that moment doesn’t come, the friendly staff suggestions, clean and ample seating, and reasonably priced snack list are good enough reasons to find your way here.
T4
$ | (925) 206-4377 | WEBSITE
As the go-to spot for bubble tea in Brentwood, T4 doesn’t just serve the part—the cozy establishment has easy parking, polite staff, and a quiet weekday atmosphere that feels private—but its drinks are on point, too. Classic options like strawberry milk tea (slightly watered down but still enjoyable) and green tea with mango ice cream illustrate a menu that flaunts amazing variety.
By the time your straw touches the popcorn chicken, praised as one of the best in the Bay Area with generous portions and delicious seasoning, you realize they’re just showing off, even if some portions have been shorted recently.
Teaspot
$ | (925) 666-8129 | WEBSITE
There hasn’t been a single time we’ve stopped by this Brentwood bubble tea spot when we didn’t see students with laptops or friends catching up over drinks. But this isn’t even the main attraction at Teaspot. The big, welcoming space, with its comfortable seating and good lighting, is just the place to get settled with our laptop for an afternoon, or you can grab a table near the window for people-watching.
Above all, Teaspot remains a neighborhood favorite because, from morning through evening, it never disappoints. The owner and staff are always at work perfecting drinks and crafting new flavors. Their King Taro tea, with its heavenly flavor combination and perfect texture, is a shining example. The refreshing passion fruit smoothie with strawberry popping boba, bursting with tropical sweetness, is a local treasure that should probably take the place of any ordinary drink in your rotation.
Boba Wings
$ | (925) 481-2298 | WEBSITE
Bubble tea shops tucked into strip malls are their own particular species. They’re often just something to pass by, but we happily make the slightly out-of-the-way trip to this Brentwood spot for Boba Wings’ flavorful fusion fare. There’s not much of a view here (maybe an occasional car circling for parking), but there’s a peaceful courtyard area where the gentle breeze and casual seating provide all the atmosphere you’ll need.
Since the place draws families and late-night crowds for its shakes and chicken, come here to enjoy a quick, satisfying meal with friends. Sip some boba and fill your table with tasty dishes—make sure you include the garlic noodles topped with extra garlic and the spicy Cajun shrimp with its hint of sweetness.
Sharetea
$ | (925) 778-1017 | WEBSITE
When craving something sweet on the weekends, Sharetea is one of our favorite bubble tea spots in Brentwood. While not as widely known or appreciated as some of the other tea shops in the area, this Taiwanese bubble tea place conveniently located next to Chick-fil-A in Pittsburgh is worth a stop for the brown sugar boba alone.
We much prefer to experience Brentwood chilling with this refreshing drink, customizing it with less sugar and ice, and sipping it in between bites of snacks versus settling for something less satisfying. Here, you’re close enough to feel the bustling energy but far enough that you can enjoy a conversation without yelling over the crowd, thanks to the chill and refreshing ambiance.
The staff, like Grace, is efficient, friendly, and generous, often running BOGO specials like the strawberry ice blended with lychee, and the QQ Happy Family Milk Tea with 6 toppings remains a popular choice. Customers love the fresh, amazing drinks and quick service, making it a favorite weekend stop, with many appreciating the daily specials and consistent quality, visiting for years without a bad experience.
Yummy House
$ | (925) 679-4697 | WEBSITE
Because we get tired of being serious all the time, Yummy House is the place we head to to unwind with a cold beer and a hearty plate after a day of pretending to be a professional person. Something about a simple, welcoming atmosphere always relaxes our hunger muscles, plus it’s hard to beat eating a hot, flavorful Loco Moco or a fresh Salmon and Tuna Poke Bowl with consistent preparation that keeps us coming back.
(Did we mention that the portions are generous and the service is quick and friendly?) If you ultimately decide you’re not in the mood for BBQ chicken or ramen, head over to their other delicious options, like the teriyaki sauce request that sometimes meets an attitude, but the accommodating staff and great value make it a must-try dining experience in Brentwood.
TeaZenTea
$ | (925) 626-5747 | WEBSITE
Feeling like a cozy tea nook meets modern art gallery, TeaZenTea in Brentwood is a charming spot that serves favorites like dalgona coffee and strawberry matcha latte. It’s always a good solo study session or a casual catch-up with friends, especially since you have options to order ahead online or use the self-service kiosk for quick pickup. Of course, the regulars are here for the mango boba as a first stop before heading out.
For us, TeaZenTea certainly stands on its own as a delightful neighborhood experience. From milk tea to seasonal specials, there aren’t many wrong picks, but when you see the artistic displays on the wall, the refreshing mango boba should be in your hand.
