Our favorite thing about Garland is, obviously, the Texas pride. But a close second is the bubble tea scene. With influences from Taiwanese classics, modern fusion twists, and local Texan flair, most spots on this list have menus so extensive we could dedicate our whole afternoons to sipping through them. And after sampling a mountain of boba in the name of research, we wouldn’t mind that one bit.
Mango Thai 2go & bubble tea (Garland)
$ | (469) 395-0370 | WEBSITE
If you spend a lot of time driving around Garland, add this shopping center spot to your list of casual places to swing by anytime to eat something really good—like their Ginger Thai lunch special, Yellow Curry, Drunken Noodles, and a Mangonada drink we’d like to elope with.
It’s a hidden gem with just a few tables for quick service, but whether you stop by for lunch, dinner, or to grab their all-day Thai dishes to go, expect reasonable food that holds its own against what you’d find at a full-service restaurant. Order from a simple menu at the counter, get your flavorful meal, eat happily, and then head out with a smile.
7 Leaves Cafe
$ | (469) 661-9110 | WEBSITE
7 Leaves Cafe used to be just another bubble tea spot, and though the focus remains on drinks, it’s far from basic. The old menu had decent milk teas and standard boba, but the new offerings include flavors like Sunset Passion with tropical fruit notes, and drizzles honey over Taro Milk Tea with boba that’s soft and chewy. Pastries like Pistachio Macarons are just as memorable. Grab a drink through the quick drive-thru, settle into a clean booth, or take a friend—this place does it all.
DING TEA GARLAND
$ | (972) 901-9999 | WEBSITE
Out of all the bubble tea spots in Garland, Ding Tea is our favorite for its unbeatable quality. The $6 drinks come with perfectly chewy golden boba, fresh fruit teas, or creamy milk teas, and you can add extra toppings for just $1. The nicely decorated, photo-friendly space almost looks like a trendy café—but there’s plenty of seating, so it’s a good option for last minute, walk-in groups. Get the fabulous Strawberry Green Tea and classic boba milk tea.
Feng Cha Garland
$ | (469) 567-0244 | WEBSITE
Tucked away in Garland, Feng Cha Garland specializes in bubble tea and comforting drinks, and it’s a solid choice for a spontaneous afternoon treat without the usual hassle. This welcoming spot has plenty of cozy seating, and a clean, accessible space that feels peaceful for all. The prices are quite reasonable, and it stays pretty relaxed, with people sipping refreshing cups of jasmine tea and indulging in rich treats like the Dirty Boba with its creamy texture.
Boba Heaven
$ | (972) 530-7850 | WEBSITE
Boba Heaven is a boba shop in Garland—the North Texas suburb that grew out of a bubble tea craze and is modeled on modern Taiwanese tea houses. In Taiwan, boba shops are actually casual hangout spots, but here on Garland’s streets they serve their Tiger Sugar boba, fruity strawberry watermelon smoothie, and other fresh drinks in convenient takeaway cups. Their Tiger Sugar boba, with rich brown sugar syrup and soft tapioca pearls, is a great one-cup treat.
Afterwards, enjoy the strong peppermint smell that greets you upon entering for a refreshing finish.
Vivi Bubble Tea
$ | (972) 414-8333 | WEBSITE
If other bubble tea spots are quick grab-and-go counters, Vivi Bubble Tea feels more like a destination, and it’s where the next generation goes for the modern bubble tea experience. This cute, welcoming spot is in a Garland shopping plaza, with bright seating areas that invite you to linger. Friends and family gather at tidy tables while customizing their sweet and ice levels.
(Despite the fun energy, they focus purely on non-alcoholic refreshment here.) While the drinks don’t have the artisanal complexity of some specialty cafes, they do a great job with the classics. Get the unique Passion Fruit QQ with lychee jelly, some perfectly cooked boba, and a few different flavors to share with the group.
King Kong Boba Tea & Smoothie
$ | (469) 367-0171 | WEBSITE
Out of the many bubble tea spots in Garland, we head to King Kong specifically for its perfectly chewy boba. You can get it in the Paradise Breeze, with brown sugar, in rich smoothies, or alongside treats like Korean corn dogs—and each option delivers that satisfying balance of sweet and refreshing.
The cozy shop is full-service, but it feels a bit like a tucked-away patio nook with a fun aesthetic, so you can easily relax there with your headphones, or have a quiet conversation over a Vietnam Frapp. Check out the fresh macaroons and Ube Crunch Macron Ice Cream Sandwich before you leave.
TEAZENTEA
$ | (469) 264-0658 | WEBSITE
Before you scroll through the rest of this list, grab a friend and head to TEAZENTEA. Not only does this Garland spot serve some of the best bubble tea in the Dallas area, they’re one of the best cafes in the city, period. Photos of drinks—and not much else—decorate the clean, aesthetic walls to help you with the impossible task of choosing between dozens of flavored teas, fruit blends, and waffles. Everything arrives at the counter in a fraction of the time it took you to decide what to order.
We love the authentic taro milk tea with boba and refreshing passion fruit mixed juice with lychee, but you should just get whatever speaks to you. As described, everything tastes perfect.
