While the fries with ‘Dino’ seasoning have received mixed reviews, the overall dining experience is highly regarded by visitors.
Lunch here is always a treat, because you can enjoy live music and explore the small motorcycle museum on-site. Evenings are a little bit more laid back with families enjoying the family-friendly outdoor areas under fair pricing.

Alamo Springs Café is a certified fun lunch spot in the hill country. There’s classic country music playing that keeps you tapping your feet and rustic wooden beams all over the porch and ceiling. It’s all good, including the drinks you can grab from the cooler while waiting for a table.

EZ PZ Pizza began as a veteran-owned small business in Fredericksburg, and it was always popular then, and it’s always popular now. The best thing about EZ PZ Pizza, apart from the friendly, attentive staff and consistency, is that everything tastes like it was made with care—fresh ingredients, and just creative enough to be exciting.
Get the jalapeño popper stuffed crust pizza with Canadian bacon and pineapple, with a side of the large salad, a slice of the dill pickle pizza, and one of the perfect crusts made by the owner himself. The place is pretty casual overall—they have just a few tables and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and they do a big delivery business to places like Llano—but you’ll probably have a better pizza here than at lots of fancier spots around town.
Pecan Grove Store

The biggest Texas celebrity might be Willie Nelson, but we’d like to start a petition to change that to Pecan Grove Store (and yes, we think this spot qualifies as a celebrity). They really rep the Hill Country hard with mature pecan trees outside, rustic decor, live weekend music, and fantastic hand-formed burgers, seasoned fries with queso, and the Gyrger with tzatziki and goat cheese.
They did all these classics when they were just a local favorite, but at their spacious outdoor spot, they also have delicious options like the Fredricksburger and Dino burger to love. The atmosphere is like none other in the city, offering picnic tables and a homegrown feeling straight from Fredericksburg. Try a burger flight and have some fries for dessert.
Dos Hermanitas Kitchen

Nuestra Casa feels like a more authentic, homestyle version of the typical Mexican restaurant you’d find in Fredericksburg. There’s even a food truck setup that gives it genuine street food charm. While many spots in town serve tacos, Nuestra Casa’s are described as the best around—truly a standout. The owners are known for their friendly service, always quick to take care of customers with a smile, and they’re accommodating to special requests too.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with simple picnic-style seating that makes it perfect for families. The menu is wonderful, and though we plan on trying everything eventually, we’re pretty stuck on the street tacos and the popular La Momalona burger. There are also great breakfast tacos and a kid-friendly selection with options like taquitos, burritos, and roast beef sopes. Don’t miss out on this gem located next to the Alon gas station!
