If you’re in Nashua, NH, you’re bound to crave a proper burger at some point. Maybe you’re fueling up after a long day at the office, or you’ve promised the kids a treat for surviving another week of school. Or perhaps you’re just tired of the same old fast-food drive-thru and want something that actually tastes like beef. Either way, these 11 spots have got you covered.
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews
$ | (603) 888-4691 | WEBSITE
Saying there are a lot of burger joints in Nashua is like saying a toddler is sort of into chicken nuggets. In this town, you’ll find plenty of loud family restaurants where the venn diagram of people who wholeheartedly enjoy birthday celebrations and who wouldn’t look out of place at a table with a kids’ menu and bottomless fries is largely a circle.
That being said, there are few places that really stand out as welcoming spots to get a great burger and enjoy a meal out that won’t require a second mortgage or a tolerance for promotional restrictions.
Wok N Roll Asian Cuisine
$ | (603) 417-2123 | WEBSITE
From the outside, Wok N Roll looks like the type of generic Asian spot you’d reluctantly grab takeout from when you’re too tired to cook. In reality, it’s actually a family-run restaurant that makes everything from sushi favorites like the ‘sushi regular’ to hot dishes like Szechuan chicken and spicy orange soy chicken.
There are a ton of places in Nashua for burgers and pub food, so it’s nice to know that Wok N Roll has lighter options like their tofu substitutions and vegetarian choices when you can’t take another heavy meal.
Five Guys
$ | (603) 821-4133 | WEBSITE
Five Guys is another spot where it’s equally possible for you to grab a quick lunch or treat the family after a game—or both, if burgers are a commonly shared love language. The menu has pretty standard fast-casual fare like burgers and fries, but prioritize an order of hot dogs, which come with your choice of toppings at no extra charge.
It might be busy if you come during peak hours, but the crew is pretty quick to serve you in the casual space that’s filled with red-and-white tile and other simple, clean finishes.
USA Chicken and Biscuit
$ | (603) 402-2586 | WEBSITE
USA Chicken and Biscuit is a great American spot that serves portions hearty enough to satisfy and dishes that’ll hit all your crispy, comfort food cravings. Come here for classics like fried chicken, chicken fingers with mashed potatoes and gravy, and chicken rice bowls with white sauce, but do try the corn and skip the mixed rice.
This is another great takeout and delivery option, but they also have a simple dining area that’s ideal for grabbing a quick lunch after running errands around Nashua.
Bistro603
$$ | (603) 722-6362 | WEBSITE
It’s a perfect launchpad for an evening, whether you bring the family and settle in near the cozy gas fireplace or grab a Fall on bun burger to enjoy on the way to another downtown spot. Make sure to add an order of the crispy chicken wings with that homemade sauce, plus some steak spring rolls that come with a zesty dipping accompaniment.
The Hidden Pig
$$ | (603) 402-9640 | WEBSITE
The Hidden Pig feels like it’s trying to hit all of the squares on a 2025 burger joint Bingo card—there are large riverside windows everywhere you look, a spacious bar area, and a menu that includes a Big Bad Wolf burger, bacon board, and Three Little Piggies tacos. But what really stands out here are the loaded tater tots. Order your own chef’s kiss tots or their secret menu for furry friends that’s a spin on dog-friendly dining with treats, water bowls, and a welcoming atmosphere.
They also have all-day brunch options, so feel free to show up to the comfortable dining room whenever you feel like quiet-quitting your diet for the day and signing off from healthy eating.
Not Your Average Joe’s
$$ | (603) 318-7777 | WEBSITE
Nashua has its share of casual American eateries that focus on seasonal menus and reliable comfort food. Not Your Average Joe’s is one of them, and it’s known for its rotating specials and complimentary bread service. There’s a printed menu that changes with the seasons—instead, the friendly server will point out the day’s highlights and current favorites, and if you’re lucky, bring you that warm bread with seasoned oil to start.
You can get satisfying dishes like the Cajun rice jambalaya or chicken potstickers on most visits, but be prepared for a potential wait during peak hours, when the place fills up. Bring a card, and ask about the daily specials.
Soel Sistas LLC: Catering, food truck, soul food, meal prep delivery
$ | (603) 943-1469 | WEBSITE
Soel Sistas is another great soul food spot with multiple service options in Nashua where you’ll find excellent comfort food and plenty of warmth to sit and revel in the wholesome family-meal energy. The fried chicken is excellent (the owner Kendra is known for her kindness and community involvement, going above and beyond before running her own spot), but so are the catfish dinners, mac and cheese, and collard greens.
Soel Sistas works equally well for casual takeout meals and Sunday dinner with your family—just maybe not from the food truck at the same time.
The Burger Den
$ | (603) 578-0370 | WEBSITE
Yes, there are a lot of burger joints in Nashua (and most of New Hampshire, for that matter), but we’re especially glad that a place like The Burger Den exists as a more classic option that’ll satisfy burger purists as well. You’ll find delicious food, friendly service, and a clean environment, plus some standout items like the chicken-fried steak, but the atmosphere is more suited for a casual family meal than your typical trendy gastropub.
Sit at a booth on a busy afternoon with your kids, tell the server you want the chicken sandwich with American sauce and fries, and let them take it from there.
Wendy’s
$ | (603) 577-8719 | WEBSITE
The menu at this spot offers a variety of mostly burger and combo meals, with the number-one star being the Dave’s Single meal deal. It would take you at least a few visits to try all their popular options, but we recommend you start your journey with the bacon cheeseburger $5 meal, the fresh chicken nuggets, and the aforementioned Dave’s Single. Their clean indoor space is great for a quick weeknight meal, but we love this spot most for its consistently fast service and reliable value.
Shorty’s Mexican Roadhouse
$ | (603) 882-4070 | WEBSITE
Much like barbecue, there’s an endless and ongoing Texas vs. New Mexico debate. The enchiladas at Shorty’s score a point for Texas, and are everything you want an enchilada to be: cheesy, saucy, and always come out super fast. There will likely be a wait for a table if you come on a busy weekend evening, but it moves quickly enough that you’ll be seated and enjoying a quesadilla or a basket of chips with that excellent salsa before you know it.
If you need a recipe for a perfect casual dinner, start the evening by grabbing a margarita at the lively bar side, then settle into the quieter dining area for a low-hassle Tex-Mex feast.
