In the span of three weeks, I somehow managed to sample wings at nine different spots while trying to find the perfect crispy, saucy bite. Turns out that I need a place with more than just basic buffalo, and also within driving distance of Nashua (preferably a spot that has blue cheese dressing).
Bonchon Nashua
$ | (603) 791-4736 | WEBSITE
This place is always busy so requires a bit of patience, but is worth the wait. Bonchon Nashua is a fast-food spot with a focus on Korean-style fried chicken, that serves the best crispy wings I’ve ever had. The perfectly-fried chicken is juicy and the sauces are spicy and delicious, but what really sets it apart is the double-frying technique that creates that incredible crunch.
And the best part (even better than the bulgogi) is that they provide quick refunds and trustworthy service whenever there are any issues with orders.
Domino’s Pizza
$ | (603) 886-0202 | WEBSITE
This is the spot formally known as Domino’s Pizza, right in the heart of Nashua. Domino’s specializes in pizza delivery and is home to one of my favorite deals in the city. It’s the 2 medium 2 topping pizza deal, made with perfectly crisp crust, fresh toppings, and a well-done pan style. In fact, the entire menu is delicious, and the NY style pizza also serves as a satisfying main course alongside the mobile app ordering, or their perfectly cooked pepperoni.
Pizza Hut
$ | (603) 888-3553 | WEBSITE
I have a special relationship with pizza. The first time I ever had it was while celebrating a Little League win with my family at our local Pizza Hut after the championship game. During those years I ate (and enjoyed) hundreds, if not thousands, of slices – so I know a good one when I bite into it. And the classic pizza at Pizza Hut is a good one. It’s buttery on the crust, flavorful throughout, and topped with cheese, fresh ingredients, and a variety of other delicious combinations.
My favorite is the original pan pizza, which has that perfect crust, savory sauce, and melty cheese.
Wingstop
$ | (603) 417-3850 | WEBSITE
The best part about living in Nashua was all the different wing spots I had the chance to try. Out of those, Wingstop became my go-to. A lot of different sauces and rubs make up the menu, but my favorite is the hot honey rub wings. They’re a container packed with deliciousness – sweet, spicy wings, tender chicken, and crispy, golden skin. While the food is good, there is room for slight improvements in service times and layout.
The staff seemed uninterested in helping, with some staff not paying attention and on their phones. While not a 5-star place, it remains a go-to spot for flavorful wings that never disappoint, making it a definite repeat visit for many customers.
Charleys Cheesesteaks
$ | (603) 402-4449 | WEBSITE
In the words of a famous Philadelphian, “Hurry up with my damn cheesesteak!” But please don’t actually say this to the pleasant staff at Charleys Cheesesteaks in Nashua. I warn you though, the high-quality chicken and great-tasting roll will make you wanna cheer. The chicken-philly alone is good, but when they serve that consistently delicious food in a large portion that’s enough for two meals? I was hooked.
But get there early, ’cause once the kitchen closes for viewing, it’s closed – and they wrap up quick.
USA Chicken and Biscuit
$ | (603) 402-2586 | WEBSITE
You know how you have those chicken fingers that are crispy, but somehow still dry? No flavor, not enough seasoning, and the only notable texture is “fried”. They’re the worst, and far too common. But USA Chicken and Biscuit is breaking that cycle with their juicy, well-battered, and well-sauced fried chicken out of a straightforward spot in Nashua. Plus there’s no mention of elaborate seating, so this place feels primed for satisfying takeout even before you walk in.
The cashier provides excellent service, recommending the chicken rice bowl with white sauce—a move that shows they know their menu. At reasonable prices, it’s the kind of spot you’d travel for when that fried chicken craving hits.
Buffalo Wild Wings
$ | (603) 888-9464 | WEBSITE
Those TVs aren’t all tuned to sports for nothing. If you’re craving something savory, Buffalo Wild Wings serves some of the best wings in Nashua. The first time I visited I wanted to try virtually every sauce, but there are over 20 options, so I ended up going with the classic combo: a mix of traditional buffalo and honey BBQ wings. Folks. This place made me like boneless wings. Let that be a testament to how good the food is here.
Papa Johns Pizza
$ | (603) 888-5005 | WEBSITE
I call this the pizza to beat out all pizzas. The classic pepperoni comes courtesy of Papa John’s, a chain serving up pies (pizza, slices, pies, whatever) in Nashua since 1984. In other words, way before delivery apps went up 500%. And their popularity must be based on the fact that the pizza is straight-up reliable – made with chewy fresh-baked dough, quality toppings, and consistent sauces.
The pepperoni pizza (named after the classic topping) is layered with zesty tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and spicy pepperoni slices. The service is generally solid, though there was that one time a plastic hang tag ended up on a slice – a rare misstep. But they make it right, like when they delivered a fresh pizza after an Uber Eats mix-up. For about $15, you get a dependable pie that hits the spot every time.
Kalo Pizza & Subs
$ | (603) 552-5555 | WEBSITE
Usually, I head downtown when I want some late-night comfort food. But Kalo Pizza & Subs, which has become a local favorite with its generous portions and friendly owner, set up shop right near downtown Nashua and is serving some seriously delicious pizza. I like ordering the cheese pizza with its amazing crust and flavor, but they also have great subs, like the pastrami or the Chicken Kebab. The grinder rolls are toasted to perfection, and the Chicken Broccoli Ziti Alfredo is a hit.
With huge, reasonably-priced pizzas and convenient parking, it’s a go-to spot for many.
