Tulsa’s cocktail scene has quietly become a destination in its own right. In recent years, a wave of talented bartenders and restaurateurs has transformed the city, creating more sophisticated spots than ever before. We’ve sipped our way through them all to bring you this definitive list—from a speakeasy with impeccable classics to a rooftop bar with skyline views that rival any coastal city’s.
in the raw vu
$$ | (918) 779-7600 | WEBSITE
Sushi spot In The Raw Vu is where you’ll find the best and most stunning sunset view in Tulsa. For $25, you’ll get a fresh plate of local unique sushi inventions or flavorful Euphoria cake, buttery rolls, crisp seaweed salad, and ginger dressing. They largely do dine-in, but there’s a convenient parking lot nearby if you want to watch the sunset while digging into tender, spiced nigiri and sipping Prosecco on the house.
It takes some patience to eat here since the service can be inconsistent with little notice, sometimes slow or a little lost. But it’s worth checking their friendly staff like Hope, Alex, and Gabrielle for a chance to sink your teeth into that sushi before a Drillers game.
Fajitas Grill 2
$ | (918) 576-6285 | WEBSITE
Fajitas Grill 2 is all about Mexican dishes made with authentic flavors and careful preparation. The fajitas are a standout, especially the chicken option with perfectly seasoned meat and fresh accompaniments that really showcase traditional techniques. The sit-down restaurant has a clean, well-lit atmosphere with classy artwork, and the high-backed booths make for a comfortable and private dining experience in town.
Nola’s …Creole & Cocktails
$$ | (918) 779-7766 | WEBSITE
Nola’s Creole & Cocktails is kind of a ridiculous restaurant, which we say only to make sure you’re the right candidate for a visit. People in 2025 would call its style “Creole revival,” and even that label undersells the orthodoxy at play. The Nola’s team serves up theoretically perfect Voodoo Chicken and the creamiest Lobster MacnCheese known to man.
Crucially, though, the restaurant is more “French Quarter flair” than “Cajun backwoods.” There are interior decor touches more vibrant and more pristine than a Mardi Gras parade, the whole place smells of spicy roux, and four out of six dishes totally work. Anyone appalled by the thought of a $28 shrimp n cheesy grits entree should avoid.
But if you’re hot on crab on crab cake Benedict or want to know exactly what makes the Gri Gri Shrimp so good (adjustable spiciness upon request), you’ll be glad you came.
Chimera Cafe
$ | (918) 779-4303 | WEBSITE
Chimera Cafe is one of those rare Tulsa spots where you can grab a casual bite without sacrificing quality or atmosphere. This cozy cafe is tucked away in a welcoming neighborhood space, and every seat feels comfortable, whether you’re settled at a rustic wooden table inside or at one of the sunny sidewalk spots outside. We love the breakfast tacos, the creamy avocado toast, and their signature iced salted maple latte, which is perfect for starting your morning right or for a midday pick-me-up.
Tacos X Mezcal
$ | (918) 764-8666 | WEBSITE
Tulsa isn’t the most magical city in Oklahoma, but Tacos X Mezcal might be the state’s most magical patio. There are multiple fireplaces and countless string lights scattered throughout this deck, which was once a simple parking lot transformed into a vibrant gathering space complete with tables for families and their dogs.
You’ll likely walk by a mountain of fresh tortilla chips on your way to your rustic wooden table, and it’s hard to avoid feelings of pure joy when you’re sharing carne asada street tacos with someone in the firelight. The menu is slightly similar to authentic Mexico City taquerías (see: their simple, plump asada tacos), but it’s still worth driving out of your way to eat here.
If only to spend a few hours watching the stars slowly appear with the sunset and pretend you’re on a cobblestone street in Guadalajara where worries don’t exist.
Valkyrie
$ | (918) 508-2285 | WEBSITE
You’ll find Valkyrie tucked away in downtown Tulsa, just past the glow of neon signs and the hum of city traffic. Come here with someone you want to share a secret with under the warm glow of Edison bulbs, and get ready to make a few decisions together, like whether to order the When They’re Red They’re Green or describe your perfect drink for a surprise creation (absolutely).
Valkyrie could easily feel a little too polished, but it works here—especially if you’re visiting from out of town and believe your life would be better if you had easier access to expertly crafted cocktails and a cozy corner booth.
Prossimo Ristorante
$$ | (918) 271-5096 | WEBSITE
If details like tableside mozzarella, beet carpaccio, and pasta in a cheese wheel make your heart flutter, book a table for a date-night dinner at Prossimo Ristorante. This is a Caesar salad and pork chop type of place, but our recommendation is to split the tableside alfredo: the pasta is perfectly creamy, and it’s served with freshly grated Parmesan you can watch them fold into the sauce. If you make it to dessert, the tiramisu is the move.
Boston Title & Abstract
$$$ | (918) 301-0744 | WEBSITE
All that speak-easy intrigue sure gets us in the mood for glamour. If you too want to dine like a New Yorker in Tulsa, do it at Boston Title & Abstract. The underground restaurant with its alleyway entrance does fabulous Wagyu and steak tartare in memorable presentations while probably unlicensed jazz covers play.
It’s a sexy room with a proud chef behind the scenes making better-than-average foie gras and gnocchi for guests who have almost finished their spot-on cocktails or thoughtful wine pours. Even if the dessert menu could be broader and the too-dark lighting hides the décor, you’ll forgive both in the presence of divine service and craveable seafood specials.
Bar Serra
$$ | (918) 727-7227 | WEBSITE
Find us a better cocktail bar in Tulsa. That’s not a challenge or an exaggeration, it’s a sincere request. We don’t believe they exist. The Mediterranean plate at Bar Serra, tucked away in a spot that could be coastal Spain, is on the generous side of the spectrum with vibrant flavors. If you order the kale salad (do this), it’ll be dressed to the point of near-perfection with crisp greens, roasted vegetables, and a bright vinaigrette. And somehow the ingredients stay balanced all the same.
It helps that Bar Serra serves some of their dishes family-style—no skimping or scrimping. This place will make you appreciate the depth of the vegetable-forward menu, and also the power of pleasant aesthetics.
Bull In The Alley
$$$$ | (918) 949-9803 | WEBSITE
Your friend who appreciates a perfectly seared Tomahawk steak already knows about Bull In The Alley, a classy little restaurant in Tulsa with a mysterious dark atmosphere. The place is by no means as bright as your friend, though. Bull In The Alley channels a sophisticated intimate hideaway, and yet it’s not so formal that you’d be second-guessing ordering a cocktail. Come for dinner to drink something expertly crafted at the bar, then stay for whatever the perfectly cooked Porterhouse might be.
Bull In The Alley also serves a range of praised dishes, and if you’re at all interested in eating well, take the leap and order something. The last time we came by, we ate hand-cut bacon and Caesar salad with a divine vinegar-based dressing that we miss with frequency. Our exact note at the time of eating: “steak plus old-fashioneds and we’re soaring.”
The Starlite Bar
$ | (918) 701-0274 | WEBSITE
Much like the vibrant heartbeats of Tulsa’s nightlife, this bar is all about celebration. Drinks like the gluten-free seltzers and creative cocktails are lively enough to match the energy surrounding it, making it a great spot for a fun night out or a really memorable happy hour with friends. Their event lineup also has some of the most engaging activities in this otherwise quiet town, like Dead Disco nights and tarot readings.
Pure Food and Juice
$$ | (918) 792-2188 | WEBSITE
If you’re only in Tulsa for a quick visit and trying to quiet that ‘should I eat healthier?’ inner voice, steer clear of Pure Food and Juice. This wonderfully inviting spot will charm you with its bright, clean aesthetic, minimalist tables, and cheerful regulars, but it’s the entirely gluten-free menu and vibrant fresh-pressed juices that just might persuade you to make it a habit.
Stop in for a juice before heading somewhere else, or assemble things like the vegan jalapeño burger with its artful fresh rolls and the popular 7-layer nachos with crispy chips, rich guacamole, and unique queso into a complete, satisfying meal.
East Village Bohemian Pizzeria
$ | (918) 895-6999 | WEBSITE
East Village Bohemian Pizzeria is a place where you can order a wood-fired fungi pizza, a plate of crispy brussels sprouts, and a rotating frozen drink that tastes like vacation. They also make a variety of customizable pizzas with vegan alternatives that smell so good you’ll hover by the kitchen door like a kid waiting for cookies.
You should absolutely get the Isle of Capri with vegan cheese and optional vegan pepperoni if you’re feeling adventurous, but their classic options like Quattro Formaggi and Mt Vesuvius will be a welcome addition to any group dinner. The dark-wood interior feels cozy and classic, though the bizarre green Instagram wall in the outdoor area does clash a bit with the otherwise warm atmosphere.
At around $18-22 for a pizza and $8 for those sprouts, it’s a solid value for the quality—especially since the service is always friendly and makes you feel like you’ve found a hidden gem worth the trip.
Ted’s Café Escondido
$ | (918) 301-8337 | WEBSITE
Even on weeknights, when Tulsa’s cocktail scene quiets down, Ted’s Café Escondido stays packed with regulars and newcomers sharing baskets of chips. Grab a seat for dinner, but expect to wait about 30 minutes for a prime booth—it’s worth it to dive into plates of their signature chimichanga and complimentary queso. The extra-thin, impossible-to-stop-eating chips are exactly what you’ll need after exploring downtown or catching a show at the BOK Center.
We’ve found ourselves making up reasons to drive across town again just to get another fermented salsa-dipped bite and a warm flour tortilla.
Bar 46
$ | (918) 398-7114 | WEBSITE
Bar 46 feels like it was made for a rapidly-disappearing version of Tulsa—one that remains unpretentious, accessible, and connected to the simple joys of hanging out. Things like craft cocktails and bar snacks are served with the kind of care and attention you couldn’t manage in a fancier establishment without charging at least twice as much. The drink menu changes seasonally, but offerings like classic martinis, served with a twist, and creative whiskey sours are all hits, should you spot them.
Expect crowds and a constant wait on weekends, while weekdays before 10pm are usually a bit more relaxed.
Juniper Restaurant
$$$ | (918) 794-1090 | WEBSITE
If we lived in Tulsa, the team at Juniper would probably know our anniversary date, our favorite table by the window, and that we always save room for the Waygu burger. The cozy dining room has warm lighting and comfortable booths that make you want to linger over another creative cocktail, and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu that balances comfort and sophistication, which includes dishes like beef stroganoff and the filet with haricots verts.
The Vault Restaurant
$ | (918) 948-6761 | WEBSITE
Whether you’re wrapping up a downtown meeting or navigating the weekend rush, The Vault should be your first destination in Tulsa. During early evenings, you’ll find crispy Cauliflower Wings, creamy Mac & Cheese, and an Autobank Salad with vibrant colors and a carrot-cauliflower slaw that offers a satisfying crunch. As night falls, they open up the lively dining area for craft cocktails, solid BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches, and decadent carrot cake.
The groovy bar section is also perfect if you need to unwind with friends or impress clients over excellent drinks and welcoming service.
Mi Pueblo
$ | (918) 561-6223 | WEBSITE
Mi Pueblo is your top pick in Tulsa for authentic Mexican fare like perfectly mixed margaritas, consistently fresh tacos, and flavorful enchiladas that you can enjoy affordably in a clean, welcoming environment. Their menu highlights the heart and soul of family-owned cooking, with vibrant dishes that never disappoint. They’ve got a no-wait setup, but there’s a warm, inviting atmosphere meant for gathering with friends, so it’s ideal for casual dinners or hanging out with a group.
Casual Cocktail
$ | (539) 867-2966 | WEBSITE
This place feels like a set designer’s vision of the perfect neighborhood bar, complete with surprisingly clean air despite the indoor smoking. And while Casual Cocktail can get packed when karaoke nights roll around, the crowd is worth it for the daily specials and excellent drinks. The atmosphere is some of the friendliest in Tulsa, and you’ll find plenty of entertainment like acoustic sets and music bingo.
They’re best known for their welcoming vibe and good ventilation, but the space for friends or solo visits with TVs for sports feels like it just opened yesterday (in a good way), and represents everything we love about local hangouts.
