Lynnwood is Seattle’s suburban alter ego: a mosaic of strip malls and tech campuses with a surprising culinary soul, full of delicious contradictions. It’s where you’ll find both Costco warehouses and some of the region’s most authentic spice trails. And while this city may be known for freeway exits and big-box stores, it’s also home to a vibrant South Asian community whose kitchens offer transportive flavors for every craving. These are the best of them.
Bollywood 360 Pizza & Kwality Ice Cream
$ | (425) 806-8300 | WEBSITE
You could visit Bollywood 360 Pizza & Kwality Ice Cream a dozen delicious and deeply satisfying times before catching on to the fact that they brand themselves as a fusion Indian pizza spot. The menu goes in a lot of different directions, so don’t be surprised if chilli paneer pizza, tandoori chicken burgers, butter chicken sandwiches, and perfectly melted cheese pizzas all end up on the table.
Nothing here tastes like a vegetarian compromise, making this Lynnwood destination a versatile crowd pleaser. It’s equally great for an indulgent, celebratory party or a cozy, affordable chill session with friends. Bollywood 360’s biggest fault is it’s not open late every night.
Royal Biryani House
$$ | (425) 481-6900 | WEBSITE
Thank goodness for the Pacific Northwest’s relentless drizzle, the kind that makes you crave something warm, spicy, and deeply comforting. It’s probably for the best until our local palates fully embrace the complex layers of South Indian cuisine, and it also means that restaurants like this have to deliver on flavor and heart. At Royal Biryani House, a cozy spot tucked away in the Lynnwood dining scene, that’s their excellent Hyderabadi biryanis and perfectly crispy dosas.
The closest thing the area has to a culinary hug, it’s as warm and inviting as it is unpretentious and reliable. Friendly staff will walk you through the varied menu and jump at the chance to geek out over the chitti punugulu and chutneys. On weekends, the place buzzes with families and groups, but on weeknights, it’s a perfect spot for a comforting tiffin or lunch.
Fusion India
$$ | (425) 375-2713 | WEBSITE
Fusion India’s menu is for people who are capital F Fun about Indian food (with love, it’s not for everyone) but it’s the colorful movie posters on the walls creating that vibrant atmosphere that lands it on this guide. Maybe it’s the chicken shehenshah, or the lively weekend buzz, but the dishes here taste better than the ones coming out of kitchens at more traditional spots. The chicken biryani and jackfruit tacos are equally exciting, so order at least one of both.
There are must-try items like Fusion Vada pav and Bhatti di daal among the starters, and Fusion India also has their own menu of sizzlers and naan turnovers if biryani is, somehow, not your thing. We’re not mad at the manchow soup and jalebi one bit.
Taste of Masala
$ | (206) 417-1118 | WEBSITE
Sometimes you want to enjoy Indian food without having to navigate intimidating spice levels or unfamiliar ingredients. Sometimes you just want to have a reliably satisfying meal. Taste of Masala is a comfortable place to do exactly that. It begins on the right note with warm, beautifully decorated surroundings and friendly, responsive service.
Order anything off the varied menu of milder Indian classics like chicken tikka masala and mixed appetizers with confidence, relax, and take in the romantic, clean ambiance. Appreciate the generous portions that often yield leftovers and leave content.
Sitar Indian Cuisine
$$ | (425) 305-4560 | WEBSITE
A Sunday buffet at Sitar Indian Cuisine is about $50 for two, it arrives at your table (or buffet line, if you opt for the all-you-can-eat service) arranged on steam trays and is generously portioned in front of you with whatever else you selected. It’s also particularly good, and no one is going to argue with you otherwise. But Lynnwood’s love for the reliable spot runs deep.
Come here to sip a masala soda in a straightforward dining area while enjoying attentive service, for flavorful biryani aromatherapy, or to feed a whole bunch of kids with free entry for the little ones. The ghee roast dosa and chicken tikka are the move here, but if you’re really hungry, you can get paneer biryani, shrimp coconut curry, and an objectively perfect Malai Kebab for a satisfying meal.
The Everest Kitchen
$$ | (206) 440-0321 | WEBSITE
It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers such consistent excellence, and even rarer to find one that makes every single dish feel like a highlight. But Lynnwood gem The Everest Kitchen is constantly impressing with every bite and every visit. There’s a mix of classic and beloved Nepali and Indian dishes on the menu, like wonderfully flavorful curry chicken and fresh, soft naan on one end of the spectrum, vegetable vindaloo and the area’s best momos on the other.
You can’t go wrong either way, but if the biryani is your go-to, we’re sorry to say The Everest Kitchen’s will ruin all others for you. The small, cozy dining room manages to be both clean and welcoming, authentic without being fussy. It’s the kind of place to eat with someone you really, really like.
Indian-Nepali Kitchen
$$ | (206) 397-3211 | WEBSITE
At some restaurants, we’ll forgive any number of offenses—even a wait for those same-sized tables, even when you really, really wanted their momos right away. Indian-Nepali Kitchen is the best Nepali food in Lynnwood, and possibly all of Snohomish County. They’re busy nearly every evening and they routinely run out of the amazing momo platter on a Friday or Saturday night, but one bite of those addicting chicken sandheko momos with their red onion topping and all is forgiven.
There’s no fancy décor, but they do serve mango lassi and clearly labeled vegan options, making it a slept-on dine-in spot. Claim a clean, simple table inside and live your flavorful Indian-Nepali fantasy. The menu is diverse, with a range of dishes including tandoori chicken momo, tikka masala, chicken Thukpa, and jhol momo. There are no wrong answers, but go ahead and get a big group together so you can order it all.
Tasty Curry Restaurant & Pizza
$$ | (425) 374-7227 | WEBSITE
Tasty Curry Restaurant & Pizza is the best Indian spot in Lynnwood. The atmosphere is quintessentially family-owned on its very best day, cute and modern, effortless and welcoming, and while on the pricier side, it’s a perfect spot for any situation. Go with kids. Go with your parents. Go with a big group of friends and don’t worry about the spice level.
If there’s a vegetarian or two in your inner circle, they’ll whip up something incredible that rivals the rest of the flavorful dishes on your table. Or, go alone and order the aptly-named Chicken Tikka Masala and the garlic naan at the counter (just don’t expect it to be mild). Treat yourself to Tasty Curry at least once a month—you, and your stomach, deserve it.
Masala of India Cuisine
$$ | (206) 417-1118 | WEBSITE
Masala of India Cuisine may not be the discovery it was when it first opened and their generous, flavorful dishes took local food blogs by storm. The experience feels more established now that they’ve perfected their lunch buffet system and attentive servers have replaced the initial rush. But those curry-based sauces still don’t disappoint.
Over fluffy jeera rice, alongside buttery naan, with moist tandoori chicken—however you sample it, you’ll leave wondering why you ever ordered regular menu items instead of the buffet.
Masala Wedgwood
$$ | (206) 717-2165 | WEBSITE
Masala Wedgwood is primarily a serious take-out operation open for lunch or dinner, but it’s also cozy enough that you wouldn’t feel uncomfortable dining in before running errands or heading home. Eat here once or twice, and you’ll become so emotionally dependent on a dish you’d crumble if they took it off the menu. The butter chicken in particular–tender chicken in a rich, creamy tomato sauce with just the right spice–will make you question everything you have ever known about butter chicken.
If the vegetable korma catches your eye, however, get it. What would be an afterthought at any other Indian spot is arguably the main event here. The flavors are complex and layered, consistently the best thing you’ve eaten in a long time.
Bay Leaf Bar & Grill
$$ | (425) 949-7555 | WEBSITE

Call ahead (yes, actually use your phone), be open about your order (some popular items might sell out), order at least one Lahori fish, a curry, some garlic naan, and the samosa chaat, and don’t arrive too early for your table.
Expect generous portions, flavor-packed but mild spice levels, and marvel at how delicious food can be when you skip the usual takeout apps for the night.
Biryani District
$ | (425) 877-1856 | WEBSITE
You’ll find some of the best South Indian food in Lynnwood tucked away in a warm, welcoming space with traditional decor and comfortable seating. Biryani District lives up to its name with standout rice dishes, and if you ask for something less spicy, the attentive staff might gently steer you toward the full-flavored options. Goat dum biryani is the must-order here—the meat falls off the bone with tender ease.
Beyond the biryanis, the menu shines with dishes like karampodi chicken and paneer bezawada biryani, all enhanced by sides like salan and raita. The setting feels genuine rather than fancy, but the atmosphere is inviting and the flavors are richly authentic, so settle into a cozy booth and load your table with as many aromatic plates as you can handle.
5 Rivers Indian Cuisine
$ | (425) 212-9952 | WEBSITE
5 Rivers Indian Cuisine is a family-run spot where you can get exceptional Indian food and, if you’re in the mood to linger, some of the best hospitality in Lynnwood. There’s typically the kind owner greeting guests and his super polite son single-handedly managing the floor while the kitchen churns out dishes that run laps around any curry in town, like perfectly spiced Tandoori Chicken Tikka and deliciously creamy Shahi Korma with succulent meat and balanced spices.
They’re open daily with a warm, welcoming interior featuring family-style seating and beautiful decor, so bring some friends or family and nothing else to do that evening.
Samburna Indian Restaurant
$$ | (425) 408-1368 | WEBSITE
With its simple storefront and straightforward seating, Samburna Indian Restaurant looks like any other neighborhood Indian spot.
If you get a takeout order of chicken tikka masala and samosas they’ll deliver solidly, but you’d also be missing out on some truly standout dishes that aren’t available at every Lynnwood Indian restaurant: the massive mega dosa that feeds a family, the surprisingly kid-friendly fish fry, flavorful mutton chukka, crispy medhu vada, and chicken Chettinad curry with Malabar paratha.
If you’re looking for something specific that’s not on the (extensive) menu, chances are the friendly staff will accommodate you. Go all out with your delivery order, or bring your favorite people here to share food—just be sure to book ahead since seating is limited.
Chawlas2 Seattle
$$ | (206) 402-4574 | WEBSITE
Chawla’s is the kind of warm, welcoming Indian spot that could easily be all tradition over taste: aromatic spices in the air, a proudly displayed menu that features ‘Garlic Naan’ and a selection of authentic North Indian classics but also, yes, cream chicken. Luckily, the food, hospitality, and service stand up to the reputation.
It’s a restaurant that has fun with flavors, like kadhai chicken with fresh herbs and pudina parathas, but it’s also a safe space for those just dipping their toes into cuisine outside of the ordinary. For a satisfying meal in Capitol Hill, this is the move. Save room for some more of that garlic naan.
Inchin’s Bamboo Garden
$$ | (425) 483-4594 | WEBSITE
If digging into crispy garlic noodles and spicy AK47 in a bustling dining room doesn’t leave you satisfied for at least two days, then perhaps Indian-Chinese fusion isn’t the cuisine for you. The aptly named Inchin’s Bamboo Garden is a restaurant that offers a diverse range of Indian-Chinese dishes, where you’ll find generous portions and bold flavors pretty much every time you visit.
The food and service are straightforward but effective, with dishes like the butter masala gravy and burnt garlic fried rice being the kind of quality you’d expect from a place that takes its fusion seriously. Eat here with a group, on a hungry night, or any day you’re craving something fresh and flavorful.
Cafe India Indian cuisine
$ | (425) 953-9739 | WEBSITE
Lynnwood has plenty of strip malls with chain restaurants, but if you just want authentic flavor without a long drive, get a meal at Cafe India tucked into a modest shopping plaza. The lunch buffet is the focus here, and with affordable options starting at $14.99, kid-friendly pricing, and generous portions ranging from samosas to goat Rogan Josh, Cafe India appeals equally to those seeking vegetarian delights and the “I want butter chicken now!” crowd.
With daily specials, a menu of curries, tandoori, and naan options, and its family-owned atmosphere, it’s also a workhorse of a restaurant. Have a family dinner in one of the cozy booths, catch up with friends over the lunch buffet, work through the flavorful curries, or have a solo meal at a table and watch Chef Amarjit Aujla’s impressive cooking.
Kalia Indian Cuisine
$$ | (206) 782-7890 | WEBSITE
Lynnwood has plenty of places to get Indian food, but no one is doing it quite like Kalia Indian Cuisine. If you’re lucky enough to get a table on a busy night, the menu is full of exciting traditional dishes, like butter masala and lamb special curry. If all that’s left by the time you order are the cheese naan or mango lassi, you’ll still find yourself in a haze of aromatic spice bliss.
Their chai tea is just okay, so take your meal over to one of the local breweries they recommend to enjoy it with a great beer. Kalia is known for their family-friendly environment as well, but you may have more fun eating there with a group where the plentiful portions really shine, like at a family gathering.
