In the winter, our default need-something-warm-and-flavorful move is Destination India. What it lacks in fancy decor (the cozy dining room looks out onto the parking lot), it makes up for in incredibly good food, incredibly friendly servers, and an excellent garlic naan that stays crispy and soft at the same time.
Very little can feel wrong when you’re dipping that perfect naan into the so very good Special Chicken Curry, enjoying the perfectly cooked meats, and have kind of healthy but very satisfying vegetarian options like Mutter methi malai on the way.

Annapurna Curry & Sekuwa House is a place we’ve probably had a dozen random spontaneous dinners at over the years – it’s one of those spots you can always walk into for a cheap, highly enjoyable meal without thinking too hard about it. The Manchester location is straightforward, with a few key features. One, pleasant and attentive service from the staff. Two, reasonable prices that make the flavorful Nepali and Indian cuisine accessible.
Three, the ability to handle different tastes, including those who enjoy spicy food. This is a spontaneous dinner guide, but we don’t like to withhold useful information. You shouldn’t have a problem walking in for some scrumptious Chicken Tikka Masala or perfect crispy samosas.
