No stretch of sand captures Miami Beach’s culinary contradictions like its Indian dining scene. Here, within a few blocks, you’ll find white-tablecloth temples where saffron is measured by the gram alongside strip-mall gems where turmeric stains the takeout containers—all while navigating valet lines of luxury sedans idling next to scooters delivering tiffins to high-rises. This list spans that entire delicious spectrum.
Raja’s Indian Cuisine
$ | (305) 539-9551 | WEBSITE
Raja’s Indian Cuisine is a fantastic authentic Indian restaurant, and where you want to go if the tourist spots in Miami Beach disappoint. Their dishes are flavorful yet balanced, and made with fresh, traditional ingredients. Our favorite is the mysore masala dosa, which comes filled with spiced potatoes, onions, and chutneys. The hot chapati and mango lassi are great too.
It’s perfect for takeout, but they also have a modest, super chill dining area where you can enjoy your meal with a cup of authentic masala tea.
Maharaja Indian Cuisine
$ | (786) 716-3935 | WEBSITE
During the day, this place sees a steady stream of customers picking up aromatic takeout orders from Maharaja Indian Cuisine, the late-night spot that keeps serving until 4 AM. But in the evening, Maharaja transforms into a destination worthy of a special meal with friends who appreciate authentic Indian flavors. After you savor standout dishes like the legendary Lamb Rogan Josh, stay for the warm atmosphere and the chefs’ passionate cooking.
Just make sure to take a moment to appreciate the kindness of the staff, who treat every guest like family.
Namaste Indian cuisine
$$ | (786) 615-3934 | WEBSITE
Not only does Namaste Indian Cuisine offer some of the best Indian food in Miami Beach, but it’s casual enough to show up straight from the beach. The restaurant is located right in the heart of the area and has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. That’s really why you should come here (and why you should grab a table outside when you can), but the food—especially the chicken rice biryani and the lamb—is outstanding.
The butter chicken has just the right amount of kick, and the vegetable samosas are perfectly crisp. With most dishes priced under $20, it’s an affordable spot that keeps loyal customers coming back, particularly for the lunch specials. The service, led by helpful staff like Saarthak, makes every visit enjoyable, and the consistent quality ensures you’ll leave planning your next trip.
Chotu Indian Street Food
$ | (786) 309-1238 | WEBSITE
Chotu Indian Street Food is a vibrant Indian street food counter inside The Lincoln Eatery food hall where you can grab a flavorful meal for around $15 per person. Your options include chaat, tikka masala platter, butter paneer with naan, kati rolls, and samosas. It’s all delicious, but before you head out, take in the lively atmosphere of the food hall with its clean environment and variety of options for everyone.
Halal Bengali/Indian Restaurant & Halal Market
$$ | (786) 216-7035 | WEBSITE
Halal Bengali/Indian Restaurant & Halal Market is a quiet little spot where you can get some very generous portions of dishes you won’t find done this authentically anywhere else in Miami Beach. The menu includes everything from classic curries to specialty biriyanis—but you should focus on their Bengali dishes, like the Koral fish. It comes on a simple white plate with perfectly grilled fish, a side of fragrant rice, and a tender pile of beef dopeyaja.
There’s no shortage of things to appreciate in the restaurant, which is kept spotlessly clean with warm lighting that makes you want to linger. Please don’t rush. Instead, just order the chicken biriyani for your main—a fragrant and layered rice dish that puts ordinary takeout to shame.
Bengal Indian cuisine
$$ | (305) 403-1976 | WEBSITE
Bengal Indian Cuisine does miraculous things with spices. You could write poetry about their shrimp biryani, and the rasmalai is creamier than a scoop of kulfi. This casual spot in Miami Beach is a great dinner option (they serve until late), but only if you’re not in a hurry. It takes some time to get your food, which is cooked to order (and tastes like it). But those flavorful shrimp curries and chicken tandoori are worth staying an extra 15 minutes at the table.
Bengal Indian Cuisine is one of Miami’s best Indian restaurants, and we feel bad for whoever comes next, because they’ve set the bar high.
Namaste Miami – Indian Cuisine & Restaurant in Miami | Unlimited Thali Lunch in Miami
$$ | (786) 534-2161 | WEBSITE
Since opening, this spot has been the best place to eat Indian food in Miami Beach—where you can watch tourists, locals who are almost certainly regulars, and the occasional food critic all drift by in the course of a lunch. It’s still a good choice because it’s good, authentic, and one of the few Indian spots in the area where you won’t be surrounded by $30 cocktails and people who arrived via Uber Black.
Start with some homemade samosas, listen closely to the owner’s recommendations, and if it’s lunchtime, you know what to do—the unlimited vegetarian thali is a must-try.
Bombay Corner
$$ | (786) 520-0739 | WEBSITE
If you want to eat Indian food somewhere that takeout containers won’t be considered formalwear, then Bombay Corner is a good choice. The place isn’t super upscale, but it’s nice enough to work for a quick meal before a flight. Or you can always grab a seat for a more casual vibe. Either way, come for the very good Indian food. Butter chicken is $18 a pop, but very worth it. If you want to keep the tab down, order some of the $12 garlic naan, which tastes great and will help you leave full.
Bombay Bistro
$$ | (305) 534-3996 | WEBSITE
Bombay Bistro has a welcoming neighborhood vibe, a relaxed atmosphere, and focuses on serving healthy vegetarian and vegan dishes. But it also takes its flavors very seriously, and this spot is quietly one of Miami Beach’s most consistently satisfying Indian restaurants. If you want something reliably delicious and accommodating to dietary needs, perhaps paired with a refreshing mango lassi, this is where you want to be.
The pav bhaji is as great as everyone says, but so are other staples like the freshly cooked sabji and satisfying naan. Yes, Bombay Bistro is still the most welcoming place to be in South Beach for a memorable meal. But don’t forget about them next time you’re craving authentic Indian cuisine.
Rishtedar
$$ | (305) 799-0724 | WEBSITE
There is no restaurant in this city like Rishtedar—and not just because Miami Beach lacks the authentic Indian options of many major cities. It just has a very rare combination of exciting food, contagious warmth, and design details sure to imminently overtake your senses. The jewel-toned walls and intricate latticework left over from traditional Indian design make Rishtedar feel lived-in like a favorite family home, and the entire space is a vibrant, colorful immersion.
The overall feeling of Rishtedar speaks to this place’s roots as a welcoming gathering spot, when it was just friends getting together for rich, bold flavors and one-of-a-kind Indian dishes.
Taj Mahal Indian Cuisine(North Miami)
$$ | (786) 633-6755 | WEBSITE
We have never had a more perfect Indian meal than the one served at Taj Mahal Indian Cuisine, a cozy spot in North Miami that can get a bit congested. This is also why this place often has a wait that could take some time (both for takeout and dine-in). The five or six classic dishes you’ll find here have flavors that are rich and complex, yet still comforting and familiar when you taste them.
The highlight of the menu, a goat rogan josh with aromatic spices, tender meat, and an optional (but non-negotiable) side of buttery naan, makes us briefly lose track of time. There isn’t much to do here but savor the food at a simple table or take a feast to go. But that’s fine because this is a meal that deserves one hundred percent of your undivided attention.
Rasoi Indian Kitchen
$$ | (786) 965-6311 | WEBSITE
Like Goldilocks and her porridge, it can be hard to find an Indian restaurant that’s “just right”—one that hits that sweet spot between overly casual and overly formal, suspiciously cheap and give-your-accountant-a-heart-attack expensive. But Rasoi Indian Kitchen in North Bay Village walks that line perfectly. It’s not cheap, but the lamb chops and curry come in under $30 (at least before service and taxes), and that’s a lot better than most upscale Indian options in Miami Beach.
But the big reason we love this place is because every dish, from the kebabs to the Chicken Vindaloo, that’s laid in front of us just gets better and better, like a well-paced action movie starring Keanu Reeves.
Taj Mahal “MiamiHits” Indian Cuisine, Midtown
$$ | (786) 502-3296 | WEBSITE
Taj Mahal “MiamiHits” is an Indian spot that is one of our favorite restaurants in the entire city. It went through lots of changes during the pandemic, and has recently taken over the space that once housed a different restaurant. But all you need to know is that it’s still a great restaurant for a highly memorable meal. The outstanding dishes include things like spicy shrimp vindaloo and the Mango Curry Chicken with delicious garlic naan.
Plus, it’s just a really lovely place to hang out and have a lazy dinner with a bottle of great wine.
B & M Market
$ | (305) 757-2889 | WEBSITE
The owners at this Caribbean market have a knack for knowing when you’re on the last bite of your roti. The curry chicken, oxtails, and pumpkin curry are all fantastic, and there’s a whole family of curry variations with aromas bold enough to transport you straight to Guyana. Grab a seat in the cozy dining area for a proper meal, or swing by for takeout of a spinach patty (served in generously stuffed wraps) before heading to the beach.
But it’s probably best not to make elaborate plans after—B&M Market is so comforting you’ll just want to savor the moment.
Bombay Darbar
$$ | (305) 444-7272 | WEBSITE
There is no other Indian restaurant in Miami Beach like Bombay Darbar’s authentic, expertly prepared dishes. Which is why we’ve spent the last few years returning for their consistently excellent food. The inviting dining space does a beautiful impression of an elegant yet warm Indian eatery: soft lighting, comfortable seating, and tasteful decor. The mango chicken curry is a good choice if you prefer less spicy options. All the dishes are perfect for those seeking authentic flavors.
There’s virtually no disappointment thanks to the attentive service from staff like Krishna and the delightful burst of Indian flavors prepared with care.
Zaika Indian Cuisine
$$ | (786) 409-5187 | WEBSITE
Zaika Indian Cuisine is an Indian restaurant tucked away in Miami Beach, and getting here will make you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem. There are some very flavorful things at the casual restaurant, especially curries. We really like their spicy chicken 65 and the goat masala, hearty dishes that come with a side of fragrant rice. The indoor restaurant is also BYOB with no corkage fee.
Ayesha Indian Fine Dining – Midtown
$ | (305) 419-1628 | WEBSITE
The idli vada combo, butter masala dosa, and salmon Malabar you’ll encounter here are much better than one might expect from a place where parking can be a challenge. There are some great dishes at Ayesha from traditions we love (and they aren’t phoning it in). Prioritize the idli vada combo from the South Indian section (get it piping hot) and the salmon Malabar from the seafood offerings (get it with that incredible sauce).
Should you come to this high-class Indian restaurant with murals on the walls for a fun Saturday night dinner? Absolutely. But it’s also highly useful for regulars looking to try new dishes during their treasured visits to Miami Beach.
Akash Miami Beach
$$ | (305) 397-8846 | WEBSITE
Akash Miami Beach delivers an authentic Indian dining experience perfect for a relaxed dinner or special occasion. The restaurant is reservation-friendly and a full meal here typically takes about an hour and a half. Our top pick is the $28 chicken biryani, which comes with fragrant basmati rice, tender chicken pieces, and aromatic spices. For those craving a richer curry, get the chicken korma—it’s a creamy, flavorful dish for $26.
And if you visit during lunch hours (from 11am to 3pm), naan bread is just $2. There’s no shortage of Indian spots in Miami Beach right now, but this place has proven to be the most authentic (and most satisfying) Indian meal of them all.
Ayesha Indian Fine Dining – Key Biscayne
$$ | (786) 953-4761 | WEBSITE
Ayesha Indian Fine Dining is basically a calm and chill Indian restaurant—in the best possible way. The restaurant specializes in chicken tikka masala served right with warm hospitality and customized to suit individual tastes.
That’s good, but our favorite dish here is the malabar fish curry with authentic flavors, outstanding customer service, and an interesting menu that goes beyond just “Butter Chicken.” The third standout on their well-established menu is the delicious malai kofta and onion kulcha, which is actually more like a vegetarian gem than a typical curry. That’s it—just a few highlights on the menu—all authentic and all accommodating. It’s a perfect welcoming and affordable dinner option.
Ghee – Wynwood
$$ | (305) 395-3431 | WEBSITE
Ghee in Wynwood looks like a vibrant neighborhood spot, but it excels over every detail of its flavorful Indian cuisine. Almost every dish is made with care, including the Palak Paneer, samosa chaat, and mango tart. They’re open daily, and it’s worth stopping by for a curry (they have vegetable hakka noodles), appetizers, and a cocktail. Just look for the gorgeous, colorful building with a welcoming entrance.
They have plenty of seating inside, but (especially during happy hour) we like sitting at the lively bar area, where you can see them mixing drinks like they’re crafting works of art.
