Grassa is our favorite Italian restaurant in Vancouver. Because not only does the waterfront spot have the same charm as watching boats drift by at sunset, but they make fantastic pasta dishes, some of which are hard to find anywhere else in town. You can do a lot with $25 here, but whatever you do, make sure it involves their $18 potato gnocchi. Every centimeter of the plate is filled with perfectly cooked pasta, rich sauce, and generous portions.
The al dente texture also means that it’s fair game for a hearty meal, which is also a great time to come here, even if you just want spaghetti and meatballs and a series of interactions that almost always end in a smile. They don’t always have it, but ask for the fusilli à la vodka. It’s like eating comfort food for dinner—only significantly better.
