This is a Japanese spot in Braga that’s more notable for its friendly owner than the actual sushi they serve. The sushi is flavorful, but the omakase-style dining is why you come here for your anniversary dinner. No but seriously, there’s more value here than there is at most omakase places during a recession. Also, it’s a bit pricey, service is pleasant, and very casual. Come here for a date night with a varied selection, but not as big of a production as Nobu or Masa.
Top Wok
Maybe on your typical Tuesday, you grab takeout from that place down the street, eat it standing at the kitchen counter, and wonder why you even bothered. This time, try Top Wok. It’s a Japanese restaurant, but it isn’t the sort of place where you feel cramped or rushed, and it feels sort of like a nice, spacious dining room that happens to have beautiful decor and a pleasant atmosphere. You can also bring a group of friends or family here without issue, if you want your own little gathering.
Hanami (Hanami Sushi Braga Parque)
Hanami is the underdog choice on this list, so don’t worry if you haven’t heard of it before (if you have, it’s possible you’ve already thought about having your lunch break here). This is a very casual neighborhood spot in Braga Parque that serves affordable and very good Japanese food, but is also somewhat of a show kitchen.
Even on days when you’re not in a hurry, Hanami feels like an experience (the chefs, who prepare everything in the open kitchen, like to give everyone who comes in a view of their work).
There will likely be people watching their orders being prepared at the counter in the front, but there’s a clean, accessible dining area that you can settle into (this is the zen zone of restaurant lunches) and plenty of tables in the back for your friends to eat menu 2, menu 7, and other crispy, delicious dishes.
Asiático Restaurante Buffet

As long as you’re on a budget, Asiático Restaurante Buffet works well for a family dinner. It’s a mall spot, there are affordable all-you-can-eat options, and there’s a dessert station in the back where you can grab some sweet treats without having to pay extra. There’s also a kid-friendly area to the side where they host little ones, although, when it’s busy, people mostly just congregate in the main dining space.
It’s like a food hall, full of satisfied diners pretending to pace themselves while they load up their plates.
Tomi Sushi
Braga isn’t an especially affordable city, but at Tomi Sushi you and all your friends can spend around €35 on dinner, then move on to whatever it is you’re doing with the rest of your evening. It’s also a pretty spacious place, and there’s a dining area in the back with clean, modern decor and a big communal table.

Sit on the outdoor terrace near the rose bushes for an hour or two, then maybe stroll through the Santa Barbara garden (or stay for dessert).

If you started your evening at one of the city’s more obvious dining options, then TABERNA SHAKAI is an easy second choice for your group. Or you could just tell everyone to meet here and not plan anything else at all (or have a secret, smaller meal without alerting the whole crowd). There’s a cozy dining area with warm lighting, wooden tables, and a sushi bar, and a welcoming entry space up front with some high-top seating.
You won’t be able to stop talking about the food, but that won’t matter because you’re here to eat and enjoy housemade sushi and cooked specials called ‘the chef’s selections.’
Omakase
For those seeking an authentic taste of Japan (or those who appreciate culinary precision), Omakase is a standout destination for a refined evening meal. Kobe Lin Sushi
If you want to enjoy fresh sushi in a personalized a la carte buffet format where you order dishes by number, your best option is Kobe Lin Sushi. It’s where you can do all of these things – just be aware that the menu selection can be limited. You’ll probably want to try the temakis and sashimi (and you shouldn’t skip the combos with both fried and non-fried pieces), but the food will also be worth it. Share some sushi, try the standouts, and whatever else looks fresh.
Nothing costs too much, and the space itself is nice and pleasant.
Seiko
Much like a reliable friend and a comfortable conversation, Seiko works for pretty much any kind of casual dinner. Sushi em tua casa could honestly work just as well for a quiet family dinner as it will for your medium-sized gathering with friends. You and your crew might make the solo diners a little jealous, but you won’t be paying attention to that because there’s fresh sushi and interesting flavor combinations in front of you.
