Bodhi’s Bowl
$ | (918) 928-1357 | WEBSITE
You have several options if you’re looking for a quick, satisfying meal in Tulsa – grab a classic burger downtown, try some barbecue on Route 66, or head to one of the many great spots in the Mother Road Market (by far, our favorite option). One we love is Bodhi’s Bowl. This spot is always bustling with folks waiting in line for tasty and filling bowls, crunchy falafel, fusion dishes, and more.
Don’t leave without trying the vegan tiki masala, a creamy tomato-based curry with spices and vegetables, which Bodhi’s Bowl nails every time.
Gyros By Ali, Tulsa
$ | (918) 528-6107 | WEBSITE
Yes, technically Gyros By Ali is in Tulsa. But the Mediterranean spot is a lunch staple and one worth a visit if you’re in the area. They make absurdly good gyro platters, flavorful bowls, and noteworthy hummus and hot sauce. Gyros By Ali is an all-around great restaurant that’s also open for dinner, and has a straightforward seating situation – there’s a simple dining area with basic tables and bright lighting.
Plus, if you come here on a weekday you’ll most likely avoid any potential wait (they’re known for fast service). Another weekday perk is the consistent quality and generous portions, with meals typically running $30 to $35.
Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe – 71st and Yale
$ | (918) 986-8291 | WEBSITE
The grilled fish sandwich – with its crispy texture and flavorful caper dill tartar sauce – may get all the attention (and local menu praise). But this Mediterranean-inspired cafe in Tulsa also makes a damn good Greek salad bowl with moist and tender chicken or grilled salmon. There’s a bit of customizing that goes into a Greek salad bowl order, so get it with the tasty balsamic vinaigrette and definitely add the grilled salmon.
Saffron Mediterranean Cuisine
$ | (539) 525-0503 | WEBSITE
Tulsa may be known for barbecue joints and steak houses that say ‘Welcome to Cattle Country,’ but it’s also where to go for some extremely good Mediterranean food.
Saffron Mediterranean Cuisine is conveniently located in a pleasant neighborhood and what you can get here is beautifully presented, authentic dishes from a kitchen that clearly knows its craft – flavorful stuffed grape leaves, tender kebabs, and the Koobideh Kabob, which comes with two generous skewers of chargrilled ground beef on rice. The falafel wrap with fresh salad is another standout, and the red lentil soup is simply delectable.
Tikka Kabab
$ | (918) 292-8230 | WEBSITE
Tikka Kabab is tucked away in a simple deli-style space with order-at-the-counter service. And we love this spot because it’s one of the more straightforward places for Mediterranean food in the city – a hearty Gyro with fries is around $12. These days, Tikka Kabab is only offering a limited menu, but for some of the freshest, most flavorful dishes around, it’s a worthwhile visit. The Chicken Kabab Plate, where you can choose five sides like the creamy Raita or zesty Tabbouleh, runs about $16.
Get the crispy Falafels made from coarsely ground garbanzo beans for a perfect start.
Bill & Ruth’s Restaurant
$ | (918) 664-8181 | WEBSITE
After a long day exploring Tulsa’s Mediterranean dining scene, make the easy trip to Bill & Ruth’s Restaurant. This welcoming spot runs a diverse menu operation we’re thankful for. One gyro plate comes with fries and pita for around $12 (the shrimp basket special includes a side salad). They also have a ton of cuisines to choose from, but some of our favorites include the classic gyro; the vegetarian salad with fresh greens and feta; and the catfish basket with crispy fries.
Of course, getting the baklava for dessert is never a bad idea either.
Jumbo’s Hamburgers

This family-run spot has been serving Tulsa for years, and has been delighting us with standout Mediterranean-inspired burgers ever since. There’s the double cheeseburger that comes with crispy, hot fries, and the gyro burger that features gyro meat on a regular patty. From the lightning-fast service to the fresh, tasty ingredients, every meal here is satisfying and delicious. Also, be sure to try their excellent vegetarian options like the stuffed grape leaves and hummus.

Tulsa has plenty of great Mediterranean spots, but one you need to try is The Krazy Olive. It’s a family-friendly restaurant that’s become a local favorite, and is known for its fresh ingredients and accommodating approach to dietary needs. The secret to The Krazy Olive’s appeal? Their creamy hummus, which some say words do no justice to describe. That, and the fact that at around $10 for a generous gyro or sandwich, getting a meal here is a fantastic value.
Gyros Palace
$ | (918) 832-9943 | WEBSITE
Gyros Palace is probably better known as the go-to spot for a quick lunch than the authentic Mediterranean experience it offers, which doesn’t really matter – the gyro platter is exceptional and Tulsa iconic. Follow up your craving for something hearty with a meal at Gyros Palace. The casual eatery makes one of the best gyros in town – the gyro combo with fries and drink.
And even better, their menu recently expanded to include baklava, so you can now have sweet, flaky pastry to finish along with everything.

There’s always a line out the door at this cozy deli as the grab-and-go Mediterranean fare is some of the best in the city. You also can’t beat the ample parking and kid-friendly vibe. Ali Baba is the perfect spot for catch ups with friends over plates of chicken shawarma, gyro meat, tabouleh, and baklava.
Shawkat’s Mediterranean Restaurant
$ | (918) 742-7023 | WEBSITE
The vegan options at Shawkat’s are revelations – and they’re also the reason this place is one of our favorite tucked-away gems. It’s hard to articulate exactly what makes them such delights, but we’ll try – the fresh, flaky pita that serves as the base, and the fact that they’re layered with flavors like hummus and tabouli, or falafel and tahini. And even better: Shawkat’s is right in the heart of Tulsa.
Char Char
$ | (918) 398-6053 | WEBSITE
Char Char is a Tulsa gem where you can also happen to get some really great Mediterranean food. Some dishes we really love: the shrimp kabob for perfectly grilled seafood, the chicken kabob for tender flavorful meat, and the half chicken for a satisfying main course. If you’re exploring Tulsa’s Mediterranean scene, one spot to make a beeline for is CAVA. At this vibrant restaurant, the pita chips are perfectly crisp, and the hummus is among the creamiest in town. But the real standout here is CAVA’s harissa avocado bowl. It’s packed with fresh ingredients before being generously portioned, beautifully presented, and then finished with a drizzle of zesty sauce.

$ | (918) 599-9623 | WEBSITE
The strip malls are endless, the traffic will crawl, and half of the time a blazing sun will bake this stretch of Tulsa’s suburbs – and yet, Mediterranean Cottage is a local gem. One perfect ending to a day here is a trip to this charming spot. The authentic ethnic restaurant is housed in a converted cottage, and coming here means settling into one of their cozy dining nooks, and filling up with gyro platters, cabbage rolls, exceptional tabouleh, and falafel sandwiches.
The portions are generous enough for take-home leftovers, and the plastic pints of hummus and tabouli make for easy family dinner platters. The owner is so friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and cared for. The food is made with love, and the cost per portion is very good – an ideal spot for those seeking flavorful, delicious meals at a great value.
