Tacos los carnales

You miss real tacos. Like, authentically miss them. Even the kind that always came with those sad, store-bought tortillas because, apparently, that’s just how some places roll. But you know what else hits the spot? Tacos Los Carnales. More specifically the handmade tortillas with perfectly seasoned carne asada. They’re serving up rich flavors in Rancho Cucamonga if you stop by, and we’ve got our eye on the menudo that comes with those fire-hot red salsas.
Be a gem and bring the whole family to this friendly spot too.
El Patron Authentic Mexican Food

Option 1: Posting a photo of your sad desk lunch on your Instagram story as a cry for help. Option 2: Nachos. All of the nachos. Yes, when you find yourself getting a classic case of the Monday blues, we recommend ordering the carne asada tacos from Rancho Cucamonga’s El Patron. And the bean cheese burritos. And the chorizo breakfast burritos. And of course, the guacamole too.
This unassuming spot is not only delivering a variety of excellent Mexican flavors, but also one of our all time favourite affordable drinks, their in-house horchata. Enjoy.
Palo Fierro Tacos

You, in your kitchen at noon, craving that perfect taco. Again: ‘Just one more, just one more, I swear this is the last one, okay maybe just one more.’ Alright, for the sake of your own willpower and your stomach’s capacity, fill your mouth with the kind of taco that’ll make you forget you ever counted. The chicharrón taco from reliable neighborhood spot Palo Fierro Tacos is my go-to in Rancho Cucamonga, and you should definitely get involved in their al pastor and carnitas options.
They’re serving from their casual dining room.
Juanita’s III Rancho Cucamonga
$ | (909) 945-5232 | WEBSITE
What’s that? You know, that strange sensation? Is it hunger? Is it just a craving? Oh wait, no. Don’t fret. It’s probably just the realization that you haven’t had a proper burrito in ages. But, for the sake of your taste buds, why don’t you just call it hunger and indulge in one of the best Mexican spots around from Juanita’s. It’s Rancho Cucamonga’s go-to Mexican restaurant and you can enjoy it for dine-in or takeout all over town.
The menu stays consistent, but their handmade tortillas and rich sauces are signature staples.
My NY Pizza Sports Pizzeria
$ | (909) 647-4992 | WEBSITE
Sure, you could stress about the game and the general sensation that your team is falling apart one quarter at a time. Or, you could completely ignore everything happening on the field and eat pizza instead. The critics (our diets) might call this indulgence. We call it game time. Hit up My NY Pizza Sports Pizzeria for huge flavorful slices, delicious wings with options like lemon pepper and garlic parmesan, beer, and of course, sports.
Heads up, they’ve got plenty of TVs and sports memorabilia all around.
Mexico Lindo Restaurant
$ | (909) 466-1248 | WEBSITE
Sorry, but do the words ‘freshly made chips and tostadas’ do anything for you? It worked, didn’t it. What was a taco-less afternoon has become a slightly less, ceviche-filled, taco-less afternoon. We’re familiar with the feeling, and that’s why Mexico Lindo is also near the top of the list when we’re looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican lift. The Rancho Cucamonga spot is delivering from its cozy location and we’d recommend getting the Mar y Tierra combo plate too.
Mary’s Tamales and Mexican Food
$ | (909) 378-9782 | WEBSITE
Our favourite way to handle a craving day is to crave absolutely everything into our mouth via tortilla from either on top of or under our blanket. The tortilla is an important detail. Because not only is it the king or queen of wraps, but because not every order allows such seamless handheld self-feeding. But Mary’s Tamales and Mexican Food clearly get it.
With their perfectly packed tamales, their moist and flavorful masa, and their hot and generous tacos, this Mexican spot is what you want when you don’t know what’s what.
Fat Burrito
$ | (909) 527-3588 | WEBSITE
Nope. Negative. It isnothappening. You know that today is, for the most part, going to be a horizontal scrolling day. Dog memes, emotional overinvestment in Twitter spats, Mark and Jez – the lot. You should know that there’s absolutely no shame in that. Nor is there any shame in combining this attitude with a puffy, green-shelled, queso fresco-topped, juicy number from Fat Burrito, made by the owner’s family.
Because if you’re going to achieve anything today, you may as well make it delicious and taco-shaped.
EL CERRITO MEXICAN GRILL AND BAR
$ | (909) 948-1158 | WEBSITE
Hello. Hi. This is where we’d usually write some clever quip comparing tacos to a fiesta in a sombrero. Or something. But you know what, we’re having a tired day too. So all we’ve got in us is, Mexican food is nice. Eat some Mexican. Order from El Cerrito, and you can have some of Rancho Cucamonga’s best Sunday brunch whilst you’re at it. They’re serving from their accessible location with high chairs and booster seats, and you can check their extensive menu here.
Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican
$ | (909) 748-5203 | WEBSITE
You’re frustrated. Annoyed. Completely fed up. You just watched someone get their burrito before you even though you ordered first. No fairness for you. Way to make it worse. Hope you enjoyed that, you lucky diner. Yes, there comes a point in every food lover’s week when you realize how irritating it is that you’re envious of another customer because they got their sweet pork enchiladas style burrito before you did.
But most people we know don’t have access to exceptional Mexican food and guess what, if you live around Rancho Cucamonga, you do. Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican, home to some of our favourite tres leches cake and mint lemonade, are serving all of their signature dishes.
Luna Modern Mexican Kitchen
$$ | (909) 334-4444 | WEBSITE
Sometimes you know it’s a rough day before you’ve even left the office. You sit there, stomach rumbling, an hour before you’re meant to clock out, thinking, inevitably, I need something good. Turn to Luna. More specifically, turn to their enchiladas verdes that are basically like saying ‘not today, blandness’ in sauce form.
As well as Rancho Cucamonga’s certified best modern Mexican, this welcoming spot is also delivering their mushroom and spinach enchiladas, chicken mole enchiladas, and chef’s specials.
