Braga boasts exceptional pizza, but savoring its best slices won’t require a post-trip budget reckoning. Many top spots deliver remarkable pies for under €10. This list includes classic pizzerias, cozy nooks for authentic Neapolitan-style crusts, and a standout spot for Portuguese-inspired toppings in the historic center. While food trucks offer cheaper bites citywide, we’ve highlighted our favorite sit-down destinations here.
Mr.Pizza
This Mr.Pizza is likely the true original, despite the many pizza spots around town. Established as a local favorite, the restaurant delivers a straightforward meal full of delicious, generously sized pizzas. You’ll be surrounded by a mix of families, kids enjoying the TVs, and regulars, all dining in a calm, pleasant space that feels spacious and accessible. The pepperoni pizza with its well-made thin crust is a must-order main that goes great with a soda.
And any pizza featuring their staple, not-too-heavy toppings, like their classic margherita with fresh basil, should be on the table. Always finish with a take-out box for leftovers.
Donna Pizza Braga
Donna Pizza Braga tends to get busy after 6pm on weekends, with people lingering over glasses of Portuguese wine and local craft beers. The classic Italian tunes playing softly in the background and the spotless, well-lit dining room make this one of the most inviting pizza spots in the area—and arguably the entire city. All their pizzas are served on a thin, delicious crust, and the meat empanada starter is a must-order.
Head back for lunch when you’re craving pizza again—it’s consistently excellent there, too.
Fornito – restaurante e pizzaria
Fornito is renowned for its pizza, and it’s a standout spot in Braga. A large margherita runs about €12 and typically satisfies one person—we suggest the classic pepperoni or the quattro formaggi. The crispy arancini are also fantastic, particularly when paired with a side of marinara, and you shouldn’t depart without trying the tiramisu. The service is friendly and smoothly paced, but you won’t feel hurried during your visit.
Il Fiume Nogueiró
Every day of the week, a steady stream of pizza lovers makes their way to Il Fiume Nogueiró for the thin, crispy pies this Braga spot has been perfecting for years. Everyone is here for the $12 margherita pizza with its tangy tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and generous basil leaves, in addition to the vegetarian-friendly mushroom and olive pizza, a satisfying combination of earthy mushrooms, briny olives, and melted cheese.
For $3 extra, you can add premium toppings like prosciutto or artichokes to make your pizza even more special.
Café Areal – Snack-Bar
Café Areal – Snack-Bar has been serving up traditional francesinhas for years, well before Braga became a hub for trendy eateries. The francesinhas here are prepared by layering bread with ham, sausage, and steak, then smothering them in a rich tomato-beer sauce and melting cheese on top. Go with the special that includes a fried egg and chorizo, which is just €8 and served with a generous portion of crispy fries.
You’re not eating here for the quiet atmosphere (the space can get lively and noisy during peak hours), and it’s card-friendly, so you can pay with ease. The staff provides excellent service, even offering extra fries if your order takes a bit longer.
Pizza Hut Braga Minho Center
While Pizza Hut Braga Minho Center is part of a global chain, this Braga location has become a local favorite for families seeking reliable pizza in a welcoming environment. You’ll find genuinely attentive service from the young, enthusiastic staff who show real potential, and a wheelchair-accessible, kid-friendly space that makes everyone feel comfortable. Start with their particularly flavorful chicken wings for €8.99 or the crispy potato wedges for €6.99—both are delicious openers.
Their classic pepperoni pizza is a solid choice at €14.99 for a medium, especially when you add their signature marinara for dipping, and the more filling option is the hearty Meat Lovers pizza loaded with toppings.
I Love kebab(Braga)
You don’t come to I Love Kebab for the elegance of the setting. You’re coming for flavorful kebabs at some of the fairest prices in town. It’s tucked into a modest storefront with simple plastic tables and chairs for seating. You’ll catch the aroma of sizzling meat on the grill and see trays of fresh durum wraps and golden fries. Both the kebab and the wok dish are excellent choices, especially when paired with a cold soda that’s served right from the fridge.
Pizzaria Casa Napoli
$$$ | WEBSITE
This cozy pizzeria is where we go for pies under €10. They’re wonderfully straightforward with three essential elements: excellent dough, generous toppings, and a perfect bake. Unlike most pizza joints in town, they offer fast delivery that actually arrives hot. All the pizzas on the menu are reliable, but the €8.50 vegetarian margherita is the standout (you can add extra garlic for 50 cents more).
Order at the counter, grab an Italian soda and some garlic bread, and then settle into the comfortable seating to enjoy your meal. Since this spot has such high-quality ambiance, we recommend dining in and soaking up the hidden-gem atmosphere.
Pizzaria Das Fontes
$ | 253 615 294 | WEBSITE
There are several pizzerias in Braga where you can grab a slice, but the quality of this one consistently beats the rest. They’re open for dinner and cater to both locals and visitors, so meals tend to be relaxed, even though the $18 margherita is worth every cent. The menu stays classic, but you can expect things like perfectly charred crusts with San Marzano tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella that melts just right.
Afterward, stroll through the nearby historic center and enjoy the city’s charming atmosphere.
Oubelá
You probably already know that Oubelá has some of the best pizza in Braga, but we’re including it on this list because you might not know their wood-fired pies are only €12 each. And yes, while you should definitely order a classic margherita, it’s the Francesinha pizza with oven-baked sauce that keeps us coming back again and again.
It comes topped with generous portions of cured meats and is served with a side of tasty sangria, and the Francesinha has a rich, flavorful interior and a perfectly crisp crust. They’re open until midnight most nights, but for the best experience, come by on a Friday or Saturday evening after booking a table on their cozy outdoor carpets.
Pizza Hut Braga Parque
Pizza Hut Braga Parque is a pizza joint inside the Braga Parque shopping center that’s perfect for a quick meal in between shopping or catching a movie. The straightforward spot is where to refuel with classic pepperoni pizza or surprisingly good margherita pies that can rival those found in Italy without breaking the bank. The best part is you’ll spend under €15 and still have enough left over for a coffee at one of the mall’s cafes.
The soft drinks (the lemonade is a standout) are always fresh and just €2.50 for a large, a nice touch for a chain restaurant. Be sure to check for promotions on your way in.
Celeste Grupo
Celeste Grupo is a Braga gem and the king of thin-crust pizzas, where you’ll be in and out for under €15. This cozy, view-filled spot is a local favorite, where families, couples, and food lovers gather for a satisfying meal, perhaps to strike up a conversation at one of the snug tables. Arrive early—before the 7pm rush—as this spot fills up quickly. Focus on the simple crispy pizzas, and the fresh orange juice that packs a sweet punch.
Casa Salgado – Pizzaria e Snack-Bar
Casa Salgado is easily one of the most unassuming pizza spots in Braga—it’s essentially just a simple snack-bar with some tables and chairs inside. And along with its generous portions, it’s also one of the best value-for-money places in the city. They’re famous for their divine house toast, which you should definitely order. If you’re still hungry, they make a great pizza with quality ingredients and a perfect francesinha that’s just €8.
Domino’s Pizza Braga Sul
This is Braga’s top spot for rodízio-style pizza, and it’s one of the best places in the city for piping hot pies straight from the oven. There are a few Domino’s locations around town, but we like the Braga Sul branch best—it’s the most family-friendly, and there’s a helpful accessibility ramp outside for easy entry. A perfect order is the two-flavor pizza with your choice of toppings and the vegetarian options they offer on the menu.
The service can be a bit inconsistent at times, but the quality and kind staff make it a worthwhile stop.
Sale&Dolce
Sale&Dolce has become a reliable spot for pizza in Braga, open daily for lunch and dinner. A $14 Di Melfi pizza is substantial enough for a satisfying meal, and our favorite is half classic tomato, half extra garlic, with a side of that delicious garlic bread for an extra $4. (You can also add extra cheese for a couple more euros). Every pizza order comes with a fresh bread basket—make sure to save some for the end to soak up any remaining sauce.
There’s plenty of seating inside the cozy dining room, but if you want a more lively atmosphere, the restaurant’s friendly staff creates a welcoming vibe throughout.
