If you haven’t been to Capricciosa – Beach Lounge Cascais by now darling (we’re drawling here, by the way), then where the heck have you been? This beachfront boudoir feels like it’s been the spot to sip Aperol spritzes and squint at somebody or other on the terrace for a few years now. Everyone from Lisbon’s chic set to sun-kissed travelers has graced its artfully casual walls. And even if you don’t see anybody famous, this place makes you feel like you are.
Pop Sandwich
Pop Sandwich has affordability in its very DNA—the chocolate cake is just €1.50. The budget-friendly spot comes up in conversations a lot too. “Let’s grab Pop Sandwich for a quick bite” is about as practical as it gets from local families. And the regulars are even more keen on the roast pork sandwich: “I don’t need fancy, I need me a cheap eat” they say. There are plenty of pizza places in Cascais alone but, for every hungry and thrifty kind of visitor, it’s a reliable spot.

There’s only one thing better than a sun-kissed terrace overlooking the Atlantic and that’s a sun-kissed terrace overlooking one of Lisboncello’s pizzas. This Cascais gem is a different kind of Italian escape—owner-chef is from something of a culinary passion project, after all. This isn’t tourist-trap stuff. You won’t find generic margheritas here, just heart-warming authenticity. No, this is for your pasta purists, your al dente devotees. Just make sure you get the semifreddo di limoncello.
Pizzeria do Largo
Pizzeria do Largo is where locals go when they want a reliable meal and/or don’t feel like cooking tonight. Regulars will appreciate the dependable Spaghetti alla Puttanesca and tasty take on tiramisu, but we find the fireplace oven itself to be a bit underwhelming. Unless of course you consider watching pizzas get cooked in that rustic oven exciting. In which case… you might just love it here.
Lambrettazzurra Pizzeria
Lambrettazzurra Pizzeria is built for the pizza purist, the nostalgic, and those who wish for nothing more than to be transported to a tiny trattoria in Italy. This hidden gem in Cascais is a cozy, flour-dusted nook where you’re just as likely to see a family sharing a meal as you are a local regular savoring a solo slice. Frankly, that’s our kind of Italian experience.
With a reasonably priced €14 speck and pistachio pizza and a menu written with passion and fresh ingredients in mind, little about Lambrettazzurra is flashy, and the same goes for its authentic, family-run charm.
Roots Cafe Pizzeria

I wander the streets of Cascais. Sometimes I want a salad. Sometimes I want a burger. Other times, I just want another cozy pizzeria for vegan options and family time. Roots Cafe Pizzeria is the beachside sibling to the city’s pizza scene, so it’s no surprise that I like to settle in here for some salmon pizza and a white wine. I’m not the only one. Families and vegans are big fans too.
Capricciosa (Capricciosa Cascais)
One of the Cascais spots that visitors flock to—tourists, locals, and anyone seeking a reliable Italian meal with a view—is Capricciosa Cascais. The Italian restaurant was already popular, and now it’s whatever a summer evening on the terrace does to a place when you’re watching the sunset over Duquesa beach and sipping red fruit sangria.
Go for the delicious Calzone Sami and the chance to enjoy Portugal’s stunning coastline from a friendly spot that’s not trying too hard, but is still succeeding at being very enjoyable.
