Los Gatos embraces its Silicon Valley stereotypes. Welcome to the land of Teslas in every driveway, tech bros who never venture beyond the South Bay, Patagonia vests galore, and so many artisanal pizzerias we felt compelled to rank them.
Oak & Rye
$$ | (408) 395-4441 | WEBSITE
Pizza is a fundamental food group in Los Gatos, and while there are plenty of average spots that have been around for years and constant crowds at the usual chains, we head to Oak & Rye instead. This cozy restaurant with its California chill vibe is a local favorite where you should be grabbing a seat on the dog-friendly front patio and opting for the brick oven pizzas.
On the menu, expect highlights like crispy, chewy, or puffy-edged sourdough crusts, as well as incredible options like the 5 Burroughs and a pepperoni with basil and honey, plus fresh salads like arugula and shaved Brussels sprouts. The slightly higher price tag isn’t cheap, but it’s a reasonable price to pay for high-quality, unique pizzas with elevated ingredients.
The Garret Station
$ | (408) 871-6810 | WEBSITE
The Garret Station has the same dependable menu as any classic pizza parlor but with a serious family crowd and way more kids playing arcade games so they can eat chicken garlic pizza. Our issue with this nostalgic spot is that it’s not the main draw for pizza purists. But if you get a fresh BLT with perfectly cooked bacon right off the grill, it’s usually pretty great.
Pizza My Heart
$ | (408) 395-8834 | WEBSITE
Pizza My Heart is Los Gatos’ pizza headquarters. At this bustling slice shop, you might see families grabbing quick dinners after soccer practice, office workers on lunch breaks, and friends sharing whole pies at the counter. And while all of the above might lead you to believe that the pizza here is just fast food, that’s not the case. The pepperoni slices are crispy, light, and loaded with toppings, cooked to perfection every time.
They also have gluten-free and dairy-free options that actually taste good, making it easy for everyone to join in.
T-Bird’s Pizza
$ | (408) 395-2525 | WEBSITE
Compared to other Los Gatos pizza joints, T-Bird’s exists in its own lane. For one, it’s not in a strip mall. It’s also more classic American pizza than “artisanal pizza.” The car-themed dining room looks like a mechanic with a flair for fun handled the decor: vintage license plates, miniature model cars, and murals of classic automobiles. The owner greets you by name and remembers your usual order.
The food is affordable—even by pizza standards—but consistently excellent, like crispy two-item pizza with perfect mushroom and pepperoni balance, delicious buffalo wings with homemade ranch, and generous portions that feel like a treat. If the wait during game nights wasn’t as long as a pit stop, we might say this is the best pizza spot in town, if not the most nostalgic.
Centonove
$$ | (408) 384-4007 | WEBSITE
Centonove has been serving Los Gatos since it opened. We’re always surprised by this fact. Before it arrived, where did locals go for delicate wood-fired pizza and quiet evenings on the patio? Who knows, but now they have this restaurant, where the simplest pizzas shine when toppings are kept minimal. Chances are you’re enjoying a pleasant evening, but at least have confidence you’ll get quality food complete with standout meatballs and praised spinach gnocchi.
Round Table Pizza
$ | (408) 354-7520 | WEBSITE
Picking a pizza place in Los Gatos often involves some deliberation, like, “Will the crust be soggy?” or, “Is the service going to be a hassle?” But Round Table Pizza is a straightforward pick because it’s welcoming, reasonably priced, and the offerings are consistently good.
This family-friendly pizzeria is open for both dine-in and take-out and serves a straightforward menu of salads with tasty ranch dressing, breadsticks, and crispy, round pizzas with generous toppings like the Maui Zaui or Chicken Garlic combo on thin crust. Most items hover under $25, so you can use this clean, all-day spot for lunch dates, family dinners, or quick take-out without stressing your wallet.
Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza
$$ | (408) 354-5566 | WEBSITE
This may come as a surprise, but Los Gatos has only a handful of truly excellent wood-fired pizza spots: the classic Patio Pizza and Willow Street, a new-school place that mostly forgoes the fussiness associated with artisanal pizza joints. At this bright and inviting location, the star is the wood-fired margherita pizza and hearty appetizers like garlic bread, grilled salmon, or the flavorful Pistachio Spaghetti only available as a special.
If it’s your first time, get the “Willow Street Dinner for Two.” The three-course tasting includes a small salad and garlic bread, and it’s your best chance to enjoy wood-fired pizza east of the 17 for less than $75 per person.
Mountain Mike’s Pizza
$ | (408) 212-7800 | WEBSITE
Mountain Mike’s Pizza may not look fancy from the outside, but it’s still a local favorite. Alongside consistently excellent pizzas—try the crispy, curly pepperoni—this classic American pizzeria offers a friendly atmosphere with sports on TVs, beers on tap, and a small arcade, all in a space that feels like it belongs in a neighborhood hangout not a chain restaurant.
If you prefer eating pizza at home, Mountain Mike’s also has pickup and delivery options so you can enjoy it fresh without leaving your house.
