But we’d be perfectly happy here pounding $5 beers and cleaning them out of scratch-made beignets. Is that fraud?

Even the outdoor dining feels lackluster now that the neighboring construction drowns out the ambiance.

But then you have the soul-penetrating emptiness that comes with walking through the salt-filled entrance of sun-bleached wood and framed beach memorabilia.
It may just be a few yards, but boy, does it feel like miles. If you can get out on the patio and snack on fried wings, have at it—but watch for the seagull flocks who are out for your fries.

Expect a lengthy wait for a slice in a Miami Beach spot that feels like a cramped, fluorescent-lit box—and expect to be pretty underwhelmed. If the pizza were excellent, we wouldn’t mind the unadulterated annoyance that comes with navigating their goofy menu descriptions, like: ‘Crispy Crunchy Classic,’ ‘Fresh Veggie Delight,’ and our very least favorite, ‘Fantastic Fettucine Feast.’ But we’ve found that most pies are tremendously soggy and bland.
If you’re being dragged here, just get an order of ‘Fried Wing Frenzy’ and move on with your day.

Totally fine if that’s your vibe—just know that the ‘must-try’ cacio e pepe comes with a side of financial surprises, and that the excellent pizza selection might have you reconsidering your budget when the 20% service fee, 2% ‘resort fee,’ and 7% tax arrive on the bill.

If you wander into Pizzette Miami expecting a quiet, romantic Italian dinner for two, we cannot possibly guarantee satisfaction—just the lively hum from the nearby alleyway and the occasional shout from a passing scooter. But it’s not called Pizzette Miami Quiet Retreat—treat this place like the vibrant, crusty-slice sanctuary it is. Devour pizza. Sip wine. Repeat ‘I know, isn’t it incredible?’ when anyone mentions the peperoni pie you’ve ordered three times this month. What about salads?
Surely there must be salads. Fine, try the perfectly acceptable manzo carpaccio and leave us alone.

Besides the promise of a vibrant Miami Beach night, nothing unites those heading out for Italian food like Il Pastaiolo. This tourist-filled restaurant on the strip has a lively terrace atmosphere—and the food to match. The calamari is decent and the penne a la vodka trends predictable, but the tiramisu is excellent, with a creamy mascarpone layer and a coffee-soaked kick. It’s nice to savor as you people-watch from the outdoor seating.
But there’s better handmade pasta elsewhere that you can eat without the cheerful staff’s constant hovering rattling your fork.
Champion Pizza

Every city has a champion. And in this case, go ahead and crown Champion Pizza. This pinnacle of tourist-friendly pizza in Miami Beach is unironically wonderful in both flavor and value. They serve one of the best buffalo slices in town, every square of dough is baked with perfect crispness, and the interior design has no trace of cheesy gimmicks. Get the BBQ chicken slice with an ice-cold soda and be thankful you’re nowhere near Times Square.
Fratelli La Bufala – Miami Beach

Fratelli La Bufala feels like the most authentic of the bunch, but that doesn’t make it any less popular. Be sure to plan ahead before heading to this vibrant, Italy-inspired place to savor Neapolitan pizza with a view that reminds you where pizza comes from. It’s an A+ spot for sipping wine while enjoying bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, spaghetti alle vongole with garlic and white wine, and spaghetti carbonara with pancetta and pecorino.
Bonus points if you do all of your dining at an outdoor table in the Miami Beach setting.

You’re in better shape going for the tasty lasagna with bolognese sauce that should really be the main attraction.
Or just come for a pizza class on a warm day and spend time learning from staff like Milu and Exequiel, whose engaging, friendly approaches make it a memorable part of a Miami visit.
Blozzom Pizza Moderna Romana
