It’s pizza season, and you’ve been tasked with finding the perfect pie in San Antonio. This may seem daunting—you know from experience that locals can be fiercely loyal to their favorite spots. But you deserve more than just another slice, so you need to make this choice count. Here are 20 places great for savoring, sharing, and debating crust thickness over something other than which highway has the worst traffic.
Capo’s Pizzeria Huebner
$ | (210) 455-0090 | WEBSITE
This list already has steakhouses and KBBQ, but packaging both into a cozy pizza joint also lends itself to casual nights out or special celebrations. Capo’s Pizzeria Huebner has the usual slices like pepperoni, but they’re served fresh and not greasy, with great portions at reasonable prices. But as good as the pizza is, figuring out who gets the last slice while relaxing with beer among the interesting mob pictures will test any friendship built up over the year.
Hopefully, you can justify an extra slice in the name of good times.
Sofia’s Pizzeria – Evans
$ | (210) 672-1200 | WEBSITE
The first time we stopped by this casual, family-friendly pizzeria, we saw a group of kids celebrating a birthday party having a great time. But luckily for your crew (and the general public), fancy outfits and reservations aren’t a part of Sofia’s Pizzeria’s vibe. There’s plenty of seating, a steady stream of classic rock on the speakers, and it’s never so noisy that you’ll resort to texting to chat about how much you like your pepperoni rolls or chicken fettuccine Alfredo.
Florio’s Pizza Inc,
$ | (210) 805-8646 | WEBSITE
This San Antonio pizza joint is one of those rare authentic spots—it has some of the best pizza in Texas but doesn’t require a reservation or fancy pretense to enjoy.
Which means less time worrying about where to eat, and more time savoring crispy, flavorful crust, spectacular cheese slices fresh from the oven, and the town’s best subs like the “Cold Cold.” Even if your lunch break suddenly shrinks, chances are you’ll still get that $5.50 two-slice-and-drink special served fast with straightforward New Yorker attitude.
Julian’s Italian Pizzeria & Kitchen
$ | (210) 496-3500 | WEBSITE
Whenever we dine at Julian’s Italian Pizzeria & Kitchen, we glance over at the open kitchen and wonder which of San Antonio’s families is enjoying a meal there with their kids. We look for every opportunity to order Pizza Classics’ hand-tossed pizzas—they come with that perfect crust, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, topped with a well-balanced sauce and fresh, flavorful toppings. Eating here is a casual, unpretentious experience, so what better excuse than a quick lunch break at this local favorite in San Antonio.
There’s a warm, inviting atmosphere with friendly staff ready to help, and sharing a buy-one-get-one-free deal on same-size pizzas is an ideal incentive for enjoying great value with friends or family.

If the heat starts feeling overwhelming, at least you can cool down with one of their crisp beers since they have a great selection.

Lou’s Woodfire Pizza
$ | (210) 635-0043 | WEBSITE
This wood-fired pizza joint is our favorite spot in San Antonio. Not only is the pizza exceptional, but we love sitting in the clean, welcoming dining room that’s always busy, yet never feels crowded. The menu has classics like the half-shell and cauliflower crust options, all made with scratch dough and fresh ingredients. It isn’t the lightest meal in the world, so be prepared to declare the next day’s wardrobe as “elastic waistband approved.”
Rock & Roll Pizzeria S.A.

Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse (Stone Oak)
$ | (817) 210-6856 | WEBSITE
If you’ve always wanted to pretend that you’re at a neighborhood pub instead of just another chain pizza joint, first of all, congratulations on your good taste, and secondly, Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse probably has the vibe for you. It’s lively and feels like a cozy local hangout, to the point that we have yet to locate a single unhappy customer or lukewarm slice—but we’re pretty sure these must exist thanks to the laws of probability.
The menu has lots of stuff you share with friends, like Knickerbocker Cheesy Bread and spinach dip, plus gluten-free pizzas—and there’s even a 14″ I Love Meat pizza that’s similar to the hearty ones at other pizzerias (which makes sense, since this is exactly what you’d expect from a place with friendly bar staff and reasonable happy hour deals).
Via 313 Pizza
$ | (210) 985-1313 | WEBSITE
Via 313 Pizza in San Antonio is perfect whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or feeding the whole family. Smaller groups can share the tasty artichoke appetizer or split a buffalo chicken with bacon pizza in their lively, super-clean dining space. And for larger groups craving the Carnivore with its crispy edges or the popular Cadillac with prosciutto, their Detroit Style pies easily satisfy a hungry crowd.
But no matter how many you’re with, dessert is essential—the herbivore large pizza with its amazing crust is the comfort food boost you all need to power through your 2025 pizza cravings.
Alamo Pizza & Wings

In a city known for its sunshine, sometimes you just need a place that delivers comfort without pretense. If your crew is craving something reliably satisfying, head to Alamo Pizza & Wings. This spot is a local favorite, and the atmosphere is warm and unassuming.
The menu is pizza-and-wings focused, and the best things here are the pizzas (the Buffalo chicken and the half pepperoni, Italian sausage, and Canadian bacon with pineapple are both standouts), the spicy lemon pepper wings, and the garlic knots with their signature sauce. The thin, crispy crust on the pies hits that perfect balance, and the cheese bread is a simple, delicious treat.
Pasta dishes like the spaghetti with meatballs deliver hearty flavors, and the fountain drinks are crisp and refreshing. It’s the kind of spot where the staff genuinely wants you to enjoy your meal, and you’ll likely leave planning your next visit.
Il Forno
$$ | (726) 444-0744 | WEBSITE
We get it; not every pizza hits the spot. But if any restaurant could end everyone’s cravings on a perfect note, it’s Il Forno in San Antonio. The key to finding common ground at this cozy spot is their brick-oven pizzas and house-made toppings. Once everyone has discovered a shared love of crispy Margherita with fresh mozzarella or pepperoni pizza with that great texture, nobody will even remember (or care) who ordered the last slice.
Plus, the covered patio is so charming even if someone dares to complain about the tomato sauce, you’ll be too busy enjoying the garden to notice.
Fiume Pizzeria and Wine Bar
$$ | (210) 224-3368 | WEBSITE
Fiume Pizzeria is a tough spot to snag a table. So hopefully you’re one of those groups that plan river-view dinners in early spring when places are (typically) less crowded. Either way, the Italian food here would be worth organizing your celebration for after the winter rush. It’s all outstanding—from the wood-fired Classico to savory Mushroom pizza and meatballs with rich tomato sauce. And the variety of pizzas makes it perfect for sharing.
So check with your friends to see if everyone would rather eat here at 4pm on a Sunday, 9pm on a Thursday, or at a leisurely time in March of 2026.
