Lake House & Tap is right there on the water, so you’ll never be the most dressed-up one there. Unless you’re coming straight from the game. In which case, you might be wearing your team jersey and a baseball cap in the hope that people will start to think of you as a die-hard local. Good luck with that. Come here for good, solid American fare in a warm, TV-filled room where no one will care what you’re wearing.
Mellow Mushroom Lake Oconee

Mellow Mushroom Lake Oconee is a good place to stop into on your way home from the lake and down a slice of the Holy Shiitake Pie (for the cheese) and maybe a bowl of mushroom soup. They also have a wide range of pizza options and other dishes if you feel like making a meal of it.
Sweet Kneads Bakery & Cafe

Let’s try a mental exercise: imagine there was a place that served affordable, healthy, satisfying baked goods that you knew would never end up tasting like they’d been sitting out for three days. Where the spinach & feta quiche was never at risk of being dry and the brownies were never a little too dense. Sweet Kneads Bakery & Cafe offers vegan-friendly options, and once you get over the general surprise of how good healthy can taste, it actually turns out to be really, really delightful.

The great thing about Tastee Chick is that it’s basically comfort food heaven. Go in on some catfish and sweet tea, and never look back. At least until you have to face the chilly indoor seating.

We’re not entirely convinced that makes it all that affordable from a caloric standpoint, but you can probably convince your wallet otherwise.

Sips 31024 can adapt for a real lunch out with a few drinks, but can also work without judgment when you’re grabbing a quick bite between errands or are just doing that “haven’t showered” look.
