A few times a year, something magical happens: you get a weekday off. Maybe it’s a holiday, or maybe you’ve decided to treat yourself to a proper lunch. Whatever the reason, you should make the most of it, and a great way to do so is by visiting one of these Levittown gems. On this guide, you’ll find spots serving food that’s leagues better than your usual weekday meal.
Pizza Star
$ | (215) 945-7828 | WEBSITE
Pizza Star is a bustling pizza spot, and all the pies are designed for sharing. You can keep things simple with classics like cheese pizza and buffalo wings, or order some of the more interesting options like the calzone or Stromboli. Whatever you do, make sure you try the antipasto salad—it’s excellent. Also good to know? The restaurant is clean and welcoming with plenty of tables that can easily seat mid-sized groups, and the friendly employees make you feel right at home, too.
Gibby’s Ice Cream Store
$ | (215) 945-1700 | WEBSITE
This Levittown ice cream spot is incredibly popular and has been around for years, and serves treats you can enjoy in your car, in the parking lot, or at home. And while the menu isn’t going to blow your mind with complexity (it’s mainly cones, sundaes, shakes, and soft serve), it is delicious. The banana ice cream is now our reigning definition of ‘creamy perfection.’ The traditional scoops come in generous portions, and the soft serve is consistently smooth and rich.
The parking lot is full of families enjoying their cones, and even on busy afternoons, the service is fast and pleasant with staff quickly moving lines along and kids walking up to the window for their treats.
Porfirio’s Pizza And Pasta II
$ | (215) 757-2700 | WEBSITE
This Levittown spot shares a family-friendly vibe, generous portions, and efficient service with classic neighborhood pizzerias. But unlike many others, Porfirio’s excels at both pizza and pasta with standout cheesesteak hoagies. The chicken cheesesteak hoagie with bacon and mayo is particularly satisfying, layering fresh ingredients into a hearty sandwich with tender chicken and crispy bacon.
The handhelds are also excellent, like the classic cheesesteak hoagie and tasty garlic knots with garlic sauce. They’re focused on takeout and delivery, so Porfirio’s works best for casual meals—their Mediterranean salad with fresh ingredients is a perfect light complement to the rich pasta with meat sauce.
Oishi
$$ | (215) 860-5511 | WEBSITE
Oishi sits in a strip mall that’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, but it’s absolutely worth the search because this Korean-sushi spot is one of the few places in Levittown that serves genuinely excellent food. The bright, modern space doesn’t usually fill up too quickly, so snagging a last-minute table or seat at the new bar has about a 95% success rate. The beef gopdol arrives sizzling and perfectly seasoned, while the calamari tempura and clam cocktail are both satisfyingly fresh.
Just be sure to ask about splitting the check when you order if you’re planning to pay separately with friends.
McStew’s Irish Pub
$ | (215) 949-9570 | WEBSITE
Dining in a pub that allows smoking at the main bar sounds like it’s just a small step above grabbing fast food. But really, it’s a lot more enjoyable. The space at McStew’s is lively, with pool tables, a stage for events, and a separate non-smoking room, and you can come for either a holiday meal or karaoke night. Just try to remember to request your next beer between enjoying that Asian bowl and listening to some great music.
Maryanne’s Homestyle Cooking
$ | (267) 589-6196 | WEBSITE
When you need to fuel up for a busy day ahead, a heavy, salty biscuit isn’t the greatest energy-boosting option. But when the only thing you’re responsible for in the morning is relaxing with family, head to Maryanne’s Homestyle Cooking, which is basically a cozy local breakfast spot. If you’re feeling particularly indulgent, get an extra helping of their creamy, buttery creamed chipped beef and enjoy it while admiring the old school Coca-Cola decor.
Ponticelli Pizzeria & Restaurant
$ | (215) 946-5780 | WEBSITE
One nice thing about ordering in is that it’s usually easier to get delivery from popular spots. And Ponticelli Pizzeria & Restaurant, one of the best Italian restaurants in Levittown, is available for delivery, seven days a week. The menu has a bunch of Ponticelli’s greatest hits (like the pizza and empanadas) along with some regular updates to keep things exciting.
Hong Kong Pearl
$ | (215) 949-1233 | WEBSITE
Hong Kong Pearl, a top Chinese spot in Levittown, is open for takeout with generous portions (including a $12 lunch special). And while they have delicious Chinese staples, the best and most exciting dishes on the menu are the crispy ones that have satisfying and crave-worthy textures, like the egg rolls or the sesame chicken. Hong Kong Pearl is popular enough to have a steady stream of customers, but it’s not fancy.
They have a bustling atmosphere and accommodating staff who are helpful enough to handle special requests.
Pasta On Time
$ | (215) 949-8600 | WEBSITE
Pasta On Time has been serving exceptional Italian-American food in Levittown for years. It’s a cozy spot that works for all sorts of occasions, including weeknight dinners and weekend takeout when you’re in the mood to have a generous meal that might just turn into leftovers for tomorrow. Which are also very good here.
Yordana’s Pizza & Pasta
$ | (215) 943-3031 | WEBSITE
For excellent Italian comfort food in Levittown, without the fuss of fancier spots, head to Yordana’s Pizza & Pasta. All the pizzas at this place are made with a crispy, chewy crust, with your choice of a variety of satisfying toppings—like the cheese steak pizza, where tender chopped steak is paired with creamy American cheese, and The Works pizza full of well-seasoned toppings. Plus, getting here early raises your chances of enjoying the phenomenal chicken parm before it runs out.
Piazza’s Bakery
$ | (215) 547-7266 | WEBSITE
Piazza’s Bakery in Levittown has you covered for all your sweet tooth cravings. It’s cozy, with a welcoming counter, and it’s open early every morning. This is helpful to know about in case you need a last-minute birthday cake, and you want something that will impress everyone.
Hoagie Xpress
$ | (215) 949-1390 | WEBSITE
This is one of the most iconic sandwich spots in Levittown. So if you’ve never been, and are tired of pretending you’ve tried their famous hoagies—or if you just haven’t been back in a while—this is a good time to fix that. You can expect fantastic roast beef, crispy onion rings, and friendly service. While you’re checking off local must-tries, make sure to order one of their hearty sandwiches—the garlic bread cheesesteak is practically a meal in itself.
Consider grabbing a slice of their crumb cake to enjoy later, because you’ll definitely want to save room for it.
Taps Sports Bar
$ | (215) 486-7862 | WEBSITE
For your best chance to enjoy the lively Friday night atmosphere without the crowd, come here during lunch on a weekday. Of course, we can’t promise that other locals looking for a good time won’t have the same idea. Best of luck.
Arby’s
$ | (215) 486-7511 | WEBSITE
This fast-food joint is where to go when you and all your coworkers call in “sick” after that morning meeting. The food is served counter-style, and you can get classics like the chicken sandwich, mozzarella sticks, or curly fries by the combo. Inside, it feels like a clean diner, with booths and tables that can seat families. It gets busy even during lunch, so a good strategy is to divide and conquer—have someone grab a seat while another person goes through the line.
Then, hope that person doesn’t call in “sick” and leave with all the curly fries.
Wingstop
$ | (267) 754-9464 | WEBSITE
Levittown’s most satisfying chicken fix isn’t at a sports bar, but at this counter-service spot with simple tables and a straightforward setup. Crispy lemon pepper boneless wings have a game-day-worthy crunch. Cajun fried corn painted with seasoning and zippy ranch dressing could make a vegetable skeptic reconsider their stance. And the classic chicken sandwiches with fries, creamy coleslaw, and that outstanding house-made ranch are an excellent mix of hearty and comforting flavors.
Like every dish we’ve tried here, they’re worth navigating any occasional wait times for walk-ins.
Bailey’s Bar & Grille
$ | (215) 946-7991 | WEBSITE
This bar and grille in Levittown is another one of our favorite comfort food spots in the area, but it truly stands out with its gluten-free and customizable options. The dishes like the smoked brisket with fried egg and bacon or the Reuben sandwich with coleslaw, punched up with attentive preparation, are both great.
And as you settle into one of their many seating areas around the bar or high top tables, one of their many well-prepared specials highlighted on the menu will probably catch your eye. Don’t be surprised if a French onion smash burger or Tuscan salmon also makes it into your final order.
Panera Bread
$ | (215) 269-0522 | WEBSITE
Maybe it’s the clean, well-maintained dining area with its bright, welcoming atmosphere. Or maybe it’s the consistently fresh and delicious Bravo sandwich we often find ourselves ordering. But whether it’s your first or 20th time at Panera Bread in Levittown, you can always count on feeling satisfied here. Their menu offers a mix of experiences throughout the day, and your meal might involve that delicious sandwich with its unique sauce and bread or another fresh option.
Enjoy your gathering in the separate back room with glass windows, which seats about 35 people, with zero service worries thanks to the attentive and friendly staff who work hard to provide a positive experience.
Turkish American Club Of Levittown, Pa
$$ | (215) 269-1180 | WEBSITE
If you find yourself in Levittown with a craving for something authentic, the Turkish American Club is about to make your day a lot better with their outstanding grill and welcoming atmosphere. The mixed grill is hard not to finish in one sitting, and the KOFTA has a similar satisfying bite thanks to juicy, seasoned chicken. Sit at a clean table, enjoy the friendly chatter, and savor the complimentary bread and oil.
(Or, if you want the full experience, the Turkish tea is just the perfect finish.)
Jade Asian
$ | (215) 486-5922 | WEBSITE
We’re big fans of Jade Asian’s incredible sushi rolls and tofu dishes. Each meal comes with your choice of perfectly steamed rice or crisp, fresh vegetables, depending on your dietary preferences. The rice is ideal for their generous sushi platters, serving as the perfect base that complements all of the flavors from the delicate fish, creamy avocado, and tangy sauces.
But if you’re an official Team Tofu representative, the classic steamed or crispy fried tofu with savory Asian sauces are both excellent.
Sport’s Pizza Italian Cuisine
$ | (215) 949-8735 | WEBSITE
This pizza joint in Levittown happens to be a great place for reliable delivery, and has one of our favorite French fries in the area. It also has other food that’s a lot more interesting than what you’ll find at your typical neighborhood spot. Order one of their tasty pizzas with that good char on the crust, or the freshly cooked meals that arrive earlier than expected.
Then settle in at home and contemplate if everyone else you see ordering also got that generous free replacement when needed, or if their delivery is currently on its way with that reasonable pricing.
