At least, that’s what the friendly staff like Sofia would tell you (she even recommends the Special or Italian when you order).
But don’t let the simple atmosphere keep you from biting into one of the best sandwiches in town, enjoying the fresh and tasty lunch, or having a satisfying meal with authentic Colombian flavors that feel like a trip to the beach.
La Sandwicherie Miami Beach

Doubts creep in any time you see a tiny, outdoor counter spot. They’re usually cramped, basic, and probably have long lines. Miami Beach’s La Sandwicherie has those same elements, and, thankfully, lots of flavor. Open for quick bites, the sandwich shop is full of freshness, like crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes, and once in a while, the baguettes crunch perfectly for no reason (and no, it’s not because of the oven).
There’s a chance that you’ll encounter a vegan delight, like the fantastic vegan cheese sandwich, whose taste has been praised by many regulars. If you see an actual lunch rush but don’t feel like waiting forever, grab a Tropical Hummus sandwich, the fresh veggies, a few baguettes, and a seat (it’s also one of our favorite healthy stops in town).

Sandwich Shop Food Mart in Miami Beach meets two of the major criteria for a great lunch spot: it’s cheap as hell (sandwiches start around eight bucks) and also massive. Not just any massive. We’re talking about the tropical sandwich that could feed a small family or one very hungry beachgoer. We know, right? A meal straight out of paradise, if paradise came with a side of Greek salad and your choice of vinaigrette.
We’re not saying every visit to the budget-friendly sandwich joint ends with you needing a nap, but it might.
Tropical Beach Cafe

We all know the classic Miami Beach rules: Don’t swim right after eating, don’t forget sunscreen, and always check the surf conditions. Add making time for Tropical Beach Cafe to the list. On any given afternoon, locals and visitors alike flock to this charming eatery near the shore, resulting in satisfied appetites and many return visits (the signature mango juice is a must-try).
Patrons at the cafe have reported consistently pleasant experiences, including attentive staff suggestions and even something special about their Cubano coffee. It’s a definite yes from us, but if you’re feeling traditional, grab a seat inside, sip on that rich coffee, and enjoy the fish with plantain alongside rice and beans.

There are good sandwich shops, and then there’s Juicy SNDWCH. The Lincoln Eatery spot serves honey lemon chicken sandwiches that are a top choice for many customers. If that doesn’t make your mouth water, staff members like Sofia provide great service and recommendations, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. If you’re hungry enough to stop by for lunch for a few $12 sandwiches or $4 sides, and enjoy some flavorful options from the expanding menu.

Cubatón Sandwich Shop

Perhaps the guy at the counter just came from a long day at the beach. Or maybe he’s the spirit of a Cuban abuelo who used to run a café in Havana. This Miami Beach spot feels like a hub for sandwich lovers, coffee enthusiasts, and all things delicious. The bathroom is decorated with pitbull photos as a nod to the owner’s pet, which is, of course, just what a local joint would want.
Stop by for a lunch full of flavor-forward sandwiches like the Hot Honey Cubano with its tender pork and crispy bread, and share some lemonade with friends—those with and without a craving for something sweet and savory.
Cafe Bonjour

This South Beach cafe has a great patio, plenty of fresh fruit, and a rotation of more açaí bowls than a juice bar on New Year’s morning. The location has been steps from the ocean for years, which means two things: the amount of coffee served here can probably fill Biscayne Bay, and they have sunshine. The friendly staff, always smiling, is known to remember regulars and recommend pastries, and the ocean breeze occasionally drifts through the open windows.
Basically, there’s a good chance you’ll encounter vitamin C over your breakfast sandwich. We suggest you order another cocktail and crispy croissant just in case the beach doesn’t have good seating.
