We love seafood. And we love sharing it with friends. But to lure us away from our own kitchens, we need more than just another predictable fish house. Fortunately, Pearland’s dining scene is proving coastal flavors can thrive inland. Whether you’re celebrating a promotion or craving oysters with old friends, these are the Pearland seafood spots you need to know.
BB’s Tex-Orleans
$$ | (832) 856-3200 | WEBSITE
Housed in a sprawling space with sports memorabilia lining the walls and plenty of flat-screens, BB’s Tex-Orleans is a cut above your typical casual seafood spot. On game days, this Pearland destination transforms into a lively sports bar where the big plays blast through the speakers.
The thoughtful staff keeps the energy high while serving up plates of their signature items (we’re talking about you “Trio Loco”), plus they offer the Texas Trio—chicken, shrimp, catfish, and sausage—for a solid $24. The crawfish comes with that special seasoning, the bacon-wrapped, cream cheese-stuffed chicken bites are a must, and the redfish plate is cooked just right. While the house margarita might not wow, servers like Kylie and Tatyana are quick with recommendations.
It’s the kind of place where the gumbos are rich, the po’boys are packed with flavor, and you’ll definitely plan a return trip.
TJ Filipino Cuisine
$ | (713) 436-5030 | WEBSITE
After hearing about the legendary karaoke nights for years, I finally made the 29-mile trek to TJ Filipino Cuisine—and discovered why this Pearland gem keeps drawing Filipino families back. If you’re looking for authentic home-cooked flavors, you’ll find them in their exquisite buffet with 16+ hot options that are always fresh and full. It’s a space that invites you to settle in for the evening with a plate of Pandit pork in soy sauce and that tasty coconut dessert with mochi and sweet potato.
TJ Filipino Cuisine also has an on-stage videoke challenge where the owner sometimes sings with a great voice, which makes it a perfect place to celebrate with friends without breaking the bank.
Yamamori
$$ | (713) 340-3116 | WEBSITE
Yamamori is the anti-sushi joint sushi joint. There’s probably a server explaining the nuances of escolar in the corner of this clean, modern space in Pearland and most people inside will be talking about the value of the all-you-can-eat option and not the shaggy dog roll they’re currently enjoying. But you can still expect incredible sushi, along with personalized recommendations and service that has no business being as attentive as it is.
Saltgrass Steak House
$$ | (713) 436-0799 | WEBSITE
Compared to trendy steakhouses that feel overly formal and pretentious, Saltgrass Steak House is refreshingly straightforward. This Pearland restaurant is a comfortable setting for a hearty family dinner, with consistently good food and professional service (which the staff delivers with genuine attentiveness). And though we’ve always appreciated Saltgrass’s reliable steaks, we enjoy dining here even more since discovering their standout sides.
Order the T Bone Steak if you’re craving something substantial: it’s cooked to perfection and pairs wonderfully with the brussel sprouts with bacon that come crispy and generously studded with savory pieces.
Crafty Crab
$$ | (832) 856-1111 | WEBSITE
We often debate whether this lively spot in Pearland is more of a seafood joint, casual hangout, or party destination. The truth is it’s all three—and that’s exactly why we keep coming back. Drop by any evening and you’ll find groups digging into massive platters of crawfish with corn and potatoes for around $30, friends sipping sweet Peach Crown Tea that tastes just like peach ring candies, and regulars chatting with servers like Nell and Lexi who remember everyone’s favorite sauce.
The whole place feels less like a traditional restaurant and more like a backyard cookout with great music and even better company.
Taquerias Arandas
$ | (281) 412-4165 | WEBSITE
There are a lot of things Texans do better than most. One of them is breakfast tacos. So Taquerias Arandas, a straightforward Mexican spot in Pearland with plenty of parking, is always a solid choice. The menu is mostly Mexican and Mexican-American with some Latin influences, so if you’re feeling indecisive, try the breakfast burrito with that red sauce.
Complement your meal with some fluffy pancakes, a frozen margarita (if the machine’s working), or an on-the-rocks version—patience is optional (but recommended).
Thai Stellar
$ | (346) 635-4030 | WEBSITE
Amid the strip malls, chain restaurants, and other telltale signs of suburban sprawl along the stretch of Pearland’s main drag, Thai Stellar stands out as being pretty special. The space had been a neighborhood staple for years, serving authentic Thai food for families and locals stopping somewhere before heading home from work. The current owners have kept the open layout, quiet atmosphere, and excellent service.
And they’ve also added an exceptional yellow curry, heavenly complimentary soup, and given the mango sticky rice a beautiful presentation. Thai Stellar is a total destination on weekends (in case you need to wait for a booth to feel something). On weeknights, it’s a tame spot for a quiet meal.
Spicy Panda
$ | (281) 369-7580 | WEBSITE
On weekends, the dining room of this Chinese spot in Pearland is a flavor-seeking frenzy. So don’t be surprised if you spot tables devouring plates of Szechuan chili beef until closing time. But you can also usually walk right up and claim a booth or small table inside their nice dining vibe. Dishes on the menu span from tender sautéed lamb to crispy garlic pork, with nothing on the consistently tasty menu priced over $18.
Because the place is run by the same people who focus on fresh ingredients, count on Spicy Panda’s super friendly staff to talk you through the fusion favorites.
Sam’s Boat Pearland
$$ | (713) 436-0201 | WEBSITE
When at Sam’s Boat, do as the Texans do: eat spicy crawfish, snack on shrimp po boys, and enjoy plenty of good company. This lively seafood spot in Pearland is regularly packed with people splitting plates of fish tacos and enjoying upbeat music until closing time. There’s also spacious outdoor seating where you can sip a cold drink in one hand and pick at a flavorful brownie sundae in the other (the staff highly recommends it, so there’s plenty of that here).
And with its seafood menu, Sam’s Boat’s atmosphere is welcoming, reasonably priced, and consistently fun.
China Cafe
$ | (281) 741-4269 | WEBSITE
China Cafe is a Chinese buffet in Pearland with a variety of dishes on their spread. The straightforward space feels like you’re in a basic dining hall with only a few Chinese decorations, a Hibachi grill station, and plenty of tables for families. It’s a casual spot that welcomes walk-ins, so your best move is to bring a few friends who know what “all-you-can-eat” means and load up on a few of the classic options, like pepper steak with broccoli and orange chicken with rice.
Village Pizza & Seafood ( Pearland)
$ | (281) 485-0044 | WEBSITE
When it comes to the landscape of family-friendly spots in Pearland, most places are either sterile chain restaurants with kids’ menus or cramped local joints with questionable parking. Then there’s Village Pizza & Seafood, the welcoming, value-packed antidote to all of the above. Sure, the building itself looks like it could be any other strip-mall eatery from the outside. But inside, they’re serving generous portions, cooking everything fresh, and the atmosphere is right.
This is a great spot to bring the family or meet friends when you want a reliable meal, but also want to feel like you’re getting something special. Come by for the spaghetti and meatballs and you’ll probably stay for the pepperoni pizza.
Hometown Seafood Company
$$ | (281) 416-5419 | WEBSITE
Many seafood spots think they’re special because they have Instagrammable plates and attract crowds who chase trends. Hometown Seafood Company is special because it’s unlike any chain restaurant we’ve stumbled upon. This unassuming, local gem does a great job of making you feel right at home. The space is bright and welcoming, classic rock hums softly from the speakers, and this oddly comforting glow comes from the open kitchen.
We should also mention that the drink selection is solid, as is the straightforward seafood menu. Show up, settle into the spacious wooden booths, and snack on Rockefeller dip as you sip a Watermelon mojito.
Baytown Seafood Restaurant
$ | (281) 997-9805 | WEBSITE
Baytown Seafood Restaurant is a local staple with a long history of serving the community, known for its extensive menu featuring large portions at reasonable prices. But if you aren’t someone whose eyes light up at a whole snapper meal, head to this charming, no-frills spot for some consistently praised fried shrimp or oysters. The food selection is full of satisfying Southern classics, including an excellent gumbo and decently priced whole catfish by the plate.
Make sure to try the boudin balls served with a side of sautéed veggies for a complete experience.
Fish City Grill
$$ | (713) 340-1493 | WEBSITE
At first glance, Fish City Grill looks and feels like many other good seafood spots around Pearland. There’s a straightforward menu filled with crowd-pleasing classics, a casual space that feels like a neighborhood joint right as the dinner rush is starting to settle, and a selection of soups you want to eat while enjoying a cold beer. But what makes this place truly recommendable is the staff, including manager Nevels.
No request here is too much, even if your table asks for extra seasoning on the take-out crawfish. As far as the food goes, the stuffed flounder with shrimp and crab is a standout. And though it’s not technically a daily special, be sure to check the wall for their highly praised clam chowder and bisque.
