From January to damn near December, Miami Beach pulses with energy—from the gentle sway of palm trees to the electric buzz of game day crowds. But we get those perfect moments when everything aligns: a Dolphins touchdown, a Heat victory streak, and maybe that parking spot right out front. So when the game’s on and the vibe’s right, grab a seat. Here are our favorite spots.
Kaboom Fried Chicken & Pizza
$ | (305) 306-8685 | WEBSITE
You might recall the vacant lots and quiet corners that once occupied the stretch where Kaboom now stands near the bustling Miami Beach club scene. The restaurant’s simple counter service and bright lighting are humble nods to its quick-service roots while the lively, sometimes noisy atmosphere from the neighboring venue reflects the vibrant present.
This straightforward setup of kiosk ordering and casual seating only faces the busy street, but still serves as a fitting backdrop for a satisfying meal. Pair a classic soda or iced tea with the crispy fried chicken po boy or the recommended “Kaboom Special” combination of pepperoni pizza and fried chicken.
On the Rocks Bar
$ | (305) 864-2444 | WEBSITE
Instead of searching for a typical sports bar, make your way to On the Rocks Bar’s welcoming dive atmosphere. As you sip affordable drinks like Modelo beer at $6 per bottle and watch multiple TVs showing various sports events, you might feel comfortably smug, enjoying the vibrant scene while others scramble for seats elsewhere.
With attentive staff like Tatiana who remembers your drink order and an owner praised for their accommodating nature, ordinary bars will seem (literally and figuratively) beneath you. Come during a painting night or karaoke session, when you’ll experience the local community hub at its best. Just know this popular spot comes alive with activities like live music and a diverse clientele fluent in both Spanish and English, and with the soundtrack of chatter and inclusive ambiance on weekends.
Sand Bar + Kitchen
$$ | (305) 397-8375 | WEBSITE
You’ll find all the fun you need near the pool tables, giant Jenga sets, and karaoke stage at Sand Bar + Kitchen in North Beach. If there’s someone in your crew who never wants to miss the game, there’s also a spacious bar area with plenty of screens, which gives sports bar vibes without the side of chaos. Make good use of your friends by sampling all the different refreshing drinks, which perfectly complement dishes like crunchy wings, fresh coleslaw, and BBQ brisket.
The kitchen consistently dishes out some of the best bar food in the area, so deciding on an order can be hard. Thankfully, their friendly service from staff like Florencia, Lamia, and Melissa helps to take the edge off your decision so you can take more time with the menu. Then dig into hearty plates like tender lamb chops and perfectly cooked sliders.
Kantina Restaurant
$$ | (305) 534-7100 | WEBSITE
A vibrant energy greets you at Kantina Restaurant’s lively dining area. We’re not sure what creates that beautiful atmosphere, but take it as a sign to settle in and enjoy the Miami Beach vibe in your casual wear. With the friendly staff anchoring the experience, there’s plenty of opportunity for your friends, your appetite, and your sports-watching crew to settle in for a while since these delicious dishes deserve mindful moments of your time.
Grab a frozen margarita (our choice), and dig into the crispy calamari paired with fresh shrimp tempura tacos and just enough seasoning to add an extra kick.
Limonada Bar + Brunch
$$ | (786) 605-8927 | WEBSITE
We usually head to Limonada Bar + Brunch when we want to enjoy live music while sipping a creative cocktail during happy hour. A South Beach spot was transformed to create this welcoming eat-and-drink destination that features a friendly atmosphere, a roomy seating area, and a lively ambience with entertainment. The spacious indoor area is the perfect spot for large groups or for when you want to transition from brunch to a night out.
Aside from the hospitable indoor oasis, it’s worth a visit here for their delightful brunch—our favorite thing on the menu, thanks to specialty coffee that adds a perfect morning boost. But our runner-up is the high-quality dinner, which has generous portions despite being offered at pleasant prices.
Ted’s Hideaway
$ | (305) 532-9869 | WEBSITE
There’s no pretense at this classic beach dive bar. On busy nights build in some patience to avoid disappointment since the regulars claim their usual stools early. Then settle into the worn-in atmosphere of dark wood and a big bar that dominates the space. The interior has the aesthetic we most associate with a neighborhood hideaway. Everything feels comfortably broken in, locals often chat with bartenders who’ve been there for years, and it feels like you could hangout all night.
And you’ll likely want to stay awhile because the fries are a standout (they make an appearance on our best bar food list), the cold beers flow freely, and the happy hour deals on pitchers are hard to pass up.
The Clevelander Bar
$$$ | (305) 532-4006 | WEBSITE
The Clevelander Bar brings full-on Miami Beach energy, thanks to its incredible, street-facing patio—ideal for soaking up this buzzing atmosphere (so vibrant it made our best sports bars guide). The partially covered patio keeps things lively and the mood electrifying—ideal for sipping a cold beer while enjoying good music with the friendly service that comes with every visit. Kick back, watch Ocean Avenue roll by, and enjoy the energetic dance floor with positive vibes.
Mickey Burkes
$$ | (305) 747-7505 | WEBSITE
With its lively bar area, cozy booths, and a welcoming vibe that spills out onto the sidewalk, Mickey Burkes feels like a classic neighborhood hangout where you can grab a seat at the counter or settle into a corner with friends. Even on busy game nights and weekends, you’re always able to find a spot to enjoy the action. The drinks aren’t why you’re here—though the tequila cocktails and Wednesday beer deals are solid.
But if you get hungry, get the veggie burger or the tacos, which come loaded with fresh toppings and just the right amount of spice.
Lost Weekend
$ | (305) 672-1707 | WEBSITE
With the pool tables clicking and the vibrant music thumping, the lively Miami Beach energy of Lost Weekend spills out into the bar area. Beer bottles, sports memorabilia, and pool cues cover nearly every corner of this long-standing institution, and the chatter ensures the subtle clinking of glasses throughout—wings and Philly cheesesteaks will always be spellbinding.
For happy hour or late night, we usually grab a seat near a pool table, share a few reasonably priced beers with friends, and dig through the updated menu, which has some great dishes like the steak tacos and loaded nachos.
Venezia Grill, Pizzeria & Bar
$ | (305) 868-2267 | WEBSITE
When your casual dinner with a friend unexpectedly grows into a full-blown gathering, steer everyone toward Venezia Grill, Pizzeria & Bar. Their friendly, attentive service makes handling a larger group feel effortless, and with its cozy, clean layout, you’ll easily find a spot for everyone to settle in. Nothing here feels overly formal—instead it has the welcoming vibe of a neighborhood favorite, complete with an inviting, family-friendly atmosphere.
Gather your crew around a table, sharing generous plates of chicken quesadillas and beef fajitas. Since the menu is packed with hearty, crowd-pleasing options, the standout dishes like the shrimp fajitas and calzone are always worth ordering. But it’s also perfectly fine to stick with reliable classics like the finger-licking good wings or the tasty bacon cheeseburger.
