Finding a decent wine bar in Vancouver, WA can feel like navigating a dating app—too many options, not enough substance. But we’re here to cut through the noise. Forget the generic spots; these are the establishments that actually make an impression. Here’s where to go when you want to look like you give a damn about your glass.
Gossip in the Grain Taphouse
$ | (360) 258-0249 | WEBSITE
Sports bars can be overwhelming, so try the welcoming, laid-back vibe at Gossip in the Grain Taphouse. Simply put, this is a great choice for a casual hangout – the drinks are poured promptly (if you’re thirsty after a long day), the atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, and they have one of the best tap selections around (think barrel-aged beers and awesome ciders).
Plus, they’re located right in the heart of Vancouver, so at the very least, you’ll find out if this becomes your new regular spot and whether or you need to start bringing in Thai food or pizza to pair with their constantly changing lineup.
Niche Wine Bar
$$ | (360) 253-1742 | WEBSITE
Niche is perfect for when you want to show your date that you have great taste, but aren’t high maintenance – and that you want to drink really good wine. Located in Vancouver, Niche not only offers some of the best bottles around (get the owner’s recommendation with that wonderful selection), and then the number-one cozy atmosphere in town, they’re also an intimate neighborhood spot, which means you’ll be perfectly at ease when they ask ‘So, what brings you to Vancouver?’
La Bottega Cafe Deli Wine Shop
$$ | (360) 571-5010 | WEBSITE
After a particularly rough week where your boss asked you to work late every night and then criticized your spreadsheet formatting, you’re back on the proverbial self-care horse. Get back in the saddle at La Bottega.
This cafe-deli-wine shop on uptown Main Street is everything you want for a solo reset – it’s charming and low-pressure, and everything on the menu, from the house-made corned beef sandwich to the smoked mushroom ravioli and the penne alla vodka, is excellent, and generally costs around $12-25. Plus, they have one of the best wine selections in SW Washington – which is important when you’re getting to know yourself again (namely, if you’re giving off a “Please work another weekend” vibe).
Cork & Bubbles
$$ | (971) 219-0763 | WEBSITE
Tucked away in Vancouver, in what can only be described as “a cozy nook,” Cork & Bubbles is a welcoming local spot and wine bar that will make you feel more like a sophisticated, Person of Good Taste, and less like someone who just settled for a generic happy hour. And although Cork & Bubbles is great for evening events, we almost like it more on weekend afternoons, when you can really immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere and the excellent drinks they’re serving that day.
Yummy Crab
Your cousin insists you try this place because you “both LOVE seafood.” You’re skeptical about how much you’ll actually enjoy a casual boil spot, so it’s smart to keep expectations in check. Yummy Crab, the Cajun boil restaurant in Vancouver, is a solid choice. You can grab a steamer bag of shrimp and crab at the counter, and if you find the flavors more compelling than you anticipated, you can settle in at a table to enjoy some very fresh, very flavorful king crab.
Brian Carter Cellars Tasting Room & Wine Bar
$$ | (360) 216-1444 | WEBSITE
Brian Carter Cellars should be busier than it is, but we’re not going to complain, because this tasting room and wine bar has become one of our go-tos for a relaxed evening out. The waterfront spot in Vancouver has a great wine selection and solid snacks (get the sausage fennel flatbread with onion jam), and a space that feels inviting, like a cool friend’s living room with a view.
A visit to Brian Carter isn’t crazy expensive, either, so it’s an ideal choice if you don’t want to invest in a full dinner but still want quality wine and atmosphere.
Pizzeria La Sorrentina
$$ | (360) 314-4447 | WEBSITE
If you think authentic Neapolitan pizza in Vancouver, WA is just a fantasy, Pizzeria La Sorrentina is here to show you otherwise. This cozy spot is the kind of place you step into and whisper, “Wow, this is really special” without even meaning to. The space isn’t huge, but with its warm atmosphere, clean organization, and a nice patio area, there are plenty of corners to settle in for the evening.
The friendly staff, including the owner and chef, will happily guide you through the menu until you find the perfect pie, and if you’re craving more, there’s a solid selection of classic favorites, special entrees, and desserts—all crafted with fresh ingredients. The wood-fired oven gives each pizza a soft, chewy crust with that perfect little char, making every bite worth the visit.
The Sedgwick
$$ | (360) 433-9776 | WEBSITE
The Sedgwick is basically Date Night Headquarters—if a dinner here doesn’t spark some serious chemistry, you two might just be the most mismatched pair in the Pacific Northwest. Tucked away in downtown Vancouver, stepping into this chic restaurant feels like entering a sleek metropolitan hideaway, or a scene from a stylish indie film.
Beyond that, all of the Yakimori dishes at this special-occasion spot are outstanding (go for the filet or ribeye steak skewers), and the drink list is packed with delicious and well-curated selections that should get those romantic vibes flowing smoother than a perfectly poured glass of wine.
Latte da Coffeehouse & Wine Bar
$ | (360) 448-7651 | WEBSITE
Tucked away in Vancouver is Latte da Coffeehouse & Wine Bar, a cozy, welcoming spot that’s perfect for both morning coffee runs and relaxed evening dates. Ask lighthearted questions like “What’s your favorite coffee drink?” or “Would you rather sit by the fire pit or in the garden room?” while settling into their dog-friendly patio.
There’s plenty of shady seating here, surrounded by a dense laurel hedge that screens it from the road, and drinks like the 20 oz Almond Bros Mocha, which blends rich Caffé D’arte coffee with almond and chocolate notes. Be prepared for slightly pricey bills, but the atmosphere makes it worth it.
Amavi Cellars & Pepper Bridge Winery – Tasting Room
$$ | (360) 726-6119 | WEBSITE
Exploring Vancouver’s wine scene comes with a few predictable questions. Which Walla Walla cabernet do you prefer? How’s the new vintage shaping up? Wait, you actually enjoy wine tasting? If the answer to that last one leans toward yes, make your way to Amavi Cellars & Pepper Bridge Winery – because sampling two top wineries in one spot is exactly what everyone needs. We’re recommending this tasting room for its relaxed atmosphere and perfect outdoor patio.
Ginger Pop
$ | (360) 699-7273 | WEBSITE
Ginger Pop is a Thai spot where you’ll never hear anyone use the word “authenticity,” which is exactly how we like it. It’s near Grand Central Station, and is one of the best options in the neighborhood for a casual celebration. Head inside, get a cocktail, and order a couple of their insanely good tamarind duck and broccoli beef dishes. They also have a whole selection of craft beers to take home, if it seems like the night might continue past dinner.
